How do I turn the piece inside out and work in the opposite direction without leaving a hole in the work? Thank you!

Hi Katie, You can pick up the strand between the 2 stitches where the hole is, and work it together with the next stitch. Happy Easter!

Det strikkes uansett ret over ret og aviga over aviga. mvh DROPS Design

Merci d'avance
19.02.2025 - 19:38DROPS Design answered:

Knitted hat in DROPS Merino Extra Fine or DROPS Karisma. The piece is worked bottom up with folded brim.

|
------------------------------------------------------- START THE PIECE HERE: ------------------------------------------------------- HAT – SHORT OVERVIEW OF THE PIECE: The piece is worked in the round, bottom up, starting with circular needle and changing to double pointed needles as you decrease for the top. HAT: Cast on 132-144 stitches with circular needle size 3 mm and DROPS Merino Extra Fine or DROPS Karisma. Work rib in the round (purl 1, knit 1) for 8 cm. Remember to maintain the knitting tension. Turn the piece inside out and work in the opposite direction – this is done so that the edge will be neat when it is later folded up. Continue with knit over knit and purl over purl until the piece measures 18-19 cm. Insert 6 markers in knitted stitches as follows: Count 21-23 stitches, insert 1 marker in the 22nd-24th stitch (= 1 knitted stitch), insert the other markers with 21-23 stitches between each knitted marker-stitch. On the next round work as follows: Continue the rib until there are 2 stitches left before the first marker-stitch, purl 2 together, * work until there are 2 stitches left before the next marker-stitch, purl 2 together*, work from *-* to end of round = 126-138 stitches. Continue with knit over knit and purl over purl, decreasing in the same way every 2nd round a total of 13-15 times, then decrease every round 7-7 times = 12-12 stitches. Cut the strand, pull it through the remaining stitches, tighten and fasten well. The hat measures approx. 28-30 cm from the cast-on edge. Fold up the bottom 5 cm. The hat measures approx. 23-25 cm with fold-up. |
