Please could you make the assembly instructions clearer please, or better still, add a video that works? I've got as far as sewing C to A, then A to B, but the rest of it is as clear as mud. Thank you!

Dear Mrs Potter, in this video, we show the assembly of a similar hat, it might be the one that could help you. Happy assembly!

Is it possible to have a video of the assembly of the hat. I find the written instruction a bit confusing. I can see that it has been done before but I cannot view them.

Can the yarn be something thinner - for a chemo hat to be worn by friend here in southern California? She wants something that would be COOL. Any suggestions, if not this hat, would be appreciated.\\r\\n\\r\\nThank you from the bottom of my heart for all the gifts you share. I will have to live 10,000 years in order to make everything!

Dear Mrs Fisher, you can use any other yarn group B as Karisma, try our Yarn converter to see alternatives (click then on each name to see the shadecard and get more informations about the yarn). Happy knitting!

Knitted DROPS hat with flower in ”Karisma”.
DROPS 131-9 |
|||||||
HAT: The hat is worked sideways from mid back. Cast on 50-58 sts (incl 1 edge st in each side) with Karisma on needle size 4 mm. On first row (= RS) work rib as follows: 1 edge st (worked in stocking st until finished measurements), * K 2, P 2 *, repeat from *-*, finish with 1 edge st (worked in garter st until finished measurements). Insert a marker at the end of 1st row = top of hat - See A in fig. 1 (bottom edge of hat = C in fig. 1 = at beg of 1st row). Note: fig. 1 shows then hat when it's been folded. Continue in rib with 1 edge st in each side like this until piece measures 26-27 cm. Now insert another marker at the end of row from RS (= mid front - See B in fig. 1). Continue until piece measures 52-54 cm, finish with 1 row from RS. On next row (= WS) loosely cast off all sts with K over K and P over P, cut the thread and keep 50-60 cm for assembly. ASSEMBLY: Fold the piece double, sew tog edges from RS mid back and on top of hat with stitches as follows: Sew from C to A and continue to B (mid front). Turn the piece inside out and sew a seam across the tip mid back, approx. 4 cm from A - See fig. 2, fold the tip down towards C and sew it to the seam mid back. Tighten tog rib at top of hat mid front, and fold the other tip on mid front (on inside of hat) down towards D in fig 1, sew tip to inside of hat. FLOWER: The flower is a spiral which is braided out of 3 strings. Knit 1 string as follows: Cast on 6 sts with Karisma on needle size 4 mm, work in stocking st for approx. 30 cm, cast off. Knit another 2 strings the same way. Braid the strings tog and sew ends tog in each side. Twirl the braid into a spiral and sew it to the hat (or to a safety pin). |
