Thanks for your last help but is my pattern correct please on the last cast off on dogs sweater I have 87 sts which is correct and I cast off the sts stated but what ever I do I end up with more than 49 sts at end.
20.01.2023 - 23:43DROPS Design answered:
Hi Tina, Remember, you are casting off this number of stitches on both sides (at the beginning of each row you do each instruction both back and forth: 2 stitches x 2 (= 8 stitches cast off), 1 stitch x 10 (= 20 stitches cast off), 2 stitches x 1 (= 4 stitches cast off) and 3 stitches x 1 (= 6 stitches cast off). This is a total of 38 stitches cast off and leaves you with 49 stitches. Happy knitting!

Confused pattern says to cast off sts under the tummy with knit over knit and purl over purl (dog coat ) do you cast off at the start of tummy or at each end. ? Thanks
19.01.2023 - 21:59DROPS Design answered:
Dear Mrs Stronge, you should cast off the middle 9-10-13 stitches in the middle of the 13-18-23 stitches you worked for tommy, ie from beginning of the round, work the 2 sts cast on for leg, then work the next 2-4-5 ts, cast off the next 9-10-13 sts and continue over the remaining stitches. Happy knitting!

Knitted jumper for dogs in 2 strands DROPS Fabel. The piece is worked in rib. Sizes XS - M.
DROPS 233-18 |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||
------------------------------------------------------- START THE PIECE HERE: ------------------------------------------------------- DOG JUMPER – SHORT OVERVIEW OF THE PIECE: The piece is worked in the round with double pointed needles/circular needle from the neck and down to the front legs. The piece is divided and the back and tummy sections are worked separately back and forth. The piece is joined and worked in the round down the body, then finished back and forth towards the tail. The legs are worked in the round. The whole piece is worked in rib so will look narrow but is quite elastic. DOG JUMPER: Cast on 48-64-80 stitches with double pointed needles/circular needle size 4 mm and 1 strand of each colour DROPS Fabel (2 strands). Work rib in the round (purl 2, knit 2) for 6 cm = neck. Continue the rib but increase 1 stitch in every 2nd knitted section = 54-72-90 stitches. Continue this rib until the piece measures 8-9-10 cm. Now increase 1 stitch in the remaining knitted sections = 60-80-100 stitches. Continue this rib (purl 2, knit 3). REMEMBER THE KNITTING TENSION! When the piece measures 12-15-18 cm, divide for the front legs as follows: Cast off 2 purled stitches, work the next 13-18-23 stitches and place them on a thread (tummy), cast off 2 purled stitches and work the remaining 43-58-73 stitches (back). BACK: Continue the rib back and forth for a further 6-8-10 cm then place the stitches on a thread. TUMMY: Place the 13-18-23 stitches from the thread back on circular needle size 4 mm and continue the rib back and forth for a further 6-8-10 cm. JUMPER: Place all stitches on the needle, cast on 2 new stitches on each side of the tummy section = 60-80-100 stitches. Continue the rib in the round. When the piece measures 24-31-38 cm cast off 9-10-13 stitches under the tummy with knit over knit and purl over purl = 51-70-87 stitches. Finish the piece back and forth. Cast off at the beginning of each row: 2 stitches 2 times, 1 stitch 5-8-10 times, 2 stitches 1 time and 3 stitches 1 time on each side. Cast off the remaining 23-36-49 stitches. The piece measures approx. 31-40-49 cm from the cast-on edge; the neck is folded down 3 cm. LEGS: Using double pointed needles size 4 mm, knit up 28-32-36 stitches with 1 strand of each colour DROPS Fabel (2 strands) around one leg-opening. Work rib (knit 2, purl 2) for 6-7-8 cm, cast off with knit over knit and purl over purl. Repeat around the other opening. |
