I don't understand how the collar is constructed. On the XXXL size, under the starting chain, there are 22 dc for the front panel, 14 dc for the sleeve, and 33 dc for the back (so 16 to the center-back). In the collar instructions, you start at the center-front and work 22 dc for Row 1. This would only reach the beginning of the sleeve/shoulder. How does this row end? Do you chain 4 and reverse direction, going back to the center-front with the 9 tr + 4 dc + 3 hdc + 6 sc?
08.05.2019 - 17:23DROPS Design answered:
Dear Mrs Dart, in the largest size when you start first row the first 22 sts are for front piece and the last 22 sts are for the other front piece - when working shawl collar you start from mid front (from RS over right front piece) and work over these 22 stitches - on left front piece you will work first row shawl collar from WS over the first 22 sts (seen from WS). Happy crocheting!

Hi, i do not understand the instructions for the shawl collar under row 2. I am not sure what 6-6-6-6-6-6 sc, 2-2-2-2-3-3 hdc, 3-3-4-4-4-4 dc and 7-7-8-8-9-9 tr. means. Please can you assist? thanks
11.02.2019 - 20:49DROPS Design answered:
Dear Angela, you will work different kind of stitches with different height to make the collar be higher towards outwards (side with trebles) and shorter towards shoulder (side with sc). Each number refers to the size, ono row 2, work 6 sc in all sizes, then 2 hdc in the first 4 sizes but 3 hdc in the 2 larger sizes, and finish with 7 tr in the first 2 sizes, 2 tr in the next 2 sizes and 9 tr in the 2 largest sizes. Happy crocheting!

Sorry, still not clear with the collar. Like something missing in the pattern. Do you have any picture or video link that show this collar part? Thx

Dear IrSh, you will first sew together last row of each collar (right collar together with left collar), then sew the collar along neckline on back piece. Happy crocheting!

What does it means with "Sew collar tog mid back"? Which part of colar to br sewed to neckline?
24.11.2018 - 11:36DROPS Design answered:
Dear IrSh, once you sew together the collar, you will end up with a long edge that is more or less paralel to the neckline of teh sweater. These to edges have to be sewn together. Happy Knitting!

Hi Could you please just clarify for me, am i right in thinking that rows 1 and 2 of the fan pattern on body are only worked when starting the body patterned section and then you continue with row 3 only, except when you need to do the increases in the dtr and these would be row 4? Thank You
12.11.2018 - 16:59DROPS Design answered:
Dear Mrs Wilkinson, fan pattern starts when body measures 7-8-9-10-11-12 cm after division from yoke. Then you work row 1 to 4 from the fan pattern. You will then continue with fan pattern (4tr,2ch,4tr) and 4 double tr and continue to increase as explained under CROCHET TIP until there are 7 dtr between every fan. Happy crocheting!

Dear Mrs Ajith, you start the collar on the outermost stitch of the right front piece, seen from RS and work 1 st in each of the 18-20-22 (see size) front band stitches. For left front piece you will start in the outermost stitch from WS towards shoulder. Happy crocheting!

08.08.2018 - 19:39DROPS Design answered:

Insert 1 marker here – NOW MEASURE PIECE FROM HERE. Sleeve is worked in the round, top down. Beg by working mid under sleeve as follows: Work 1 dc in 5th ch of the 8 ch worked in armhole on body. Ch 3 (= 1 tr) and work 1 tr in each of the next 3 ch. Then work 1 tr in every tr over sleeve, before working 1 tr in each of the remaining 4 ch under sleeve = 64-66-68-70-72-74 tr. Insert 1 marker mid under sleeve. When sleeve measures 3 cm, dec 1 st on each side of marker - READ DECREASE TIP. ROUND 3: Work sl sts until the middle of first ch-space, * 4 tr + 2 ch + 4 tr in ch-space below, 1 dtr in each of the 3-3-3-4-4-4 tr from previous row *, repeat from *-* the entire round 4 more times (= 5 times in total). Repeat 3rd ROUND 1 more time but finish with 1 sl st in first tr on round. Fasten off. SHAWL COLLAR: Work shawl collar with short rows over the 18-18-20-20-22-22 tr on right front piece as follows: ROW 1 (= from mid front): 1 tr in every tr = 18-18-20-20-22-22 tr.
