Are there more specific instructions for working the short rows in the collar for the Anna 135-25 pattern?
27.10.2017 - 05:36DROPS Design :
Dear Mrs Chaney, this video is showing how the short rows in the collar are worked in this pattern - just remember to continue working pattern over the sts as before. Happy knitting!

Hej !

Do you have a video that can show us how to do short rows on circular needles (working in the round)?
13.09.2015 - 02:35DROPS Design :
Dear Tjitske, when working short rows, you will have to work alternately from RS and from WS. Sometimes you have to make an elevation in back of neck (for ex in a sweater), you then work number of sts stated in the pattern from RS, turn, work number of sts stated from WS, and work back and forth as many times as indicated. When short rows will have been done, continue in the round following the pattern. Happy knitting!

Could you please look at your short row video? It appears to skip right at 0:10 where you are showing how to tighten the yarn. I need to see better how to tighten the yarn, and I can't see the technique at all clearly in the video.
27.04.2015 - 15:42DROPS Design :
Dear Mrs Ingerson, when you turn, slip the first st onto the right needle and simply tighten the working yarn before working next st. Happy knitting!

In this DROPS video we show how to work an elevation with short rows. This technique is frequently used in our patterns for pants or in back of neck on jumpers and jackets. In this video we work from beginning of round (= marker / mid back) as follows: K10 sts, turn piece (to avoid holes, we slip first st on return and tighten the thread). K20 st, turn piece, K30 st, turn piece and K40, turn piece. Finally we work one round in stocking st over all sts. We now have an elevation (= more rows) mid back of the piece. REMEMBER - you will need to read the specific pattern to be able to follow. To see a pattern using this technique, go to: BabyDROPS 21-36 (pants) or DROPS 165-14 (jumper)
In this DROPS video we show how to work separate heel with short rows for socks worked back and forth. We have already worked the top of the leg and downwards to where the piece measures 12 cm. Starting from RS: * K 6, turn and K 5 back, inc by K 2 sts in last st on row, turn *, repeat from *-* a total of 4 times. * K 8, turn and K 6 back, dec by K tog the last 2 sts, turn *, repeat from *-* a total of 4 times. Work 1 row over all sts - insert a marker on this row - now measure piece from here. Continue working as follows, starting from WS: * P 6, turn and P 5 back, inc by P 2 sts in last st on row, turn *, repeat from *-* a total of 4 times. * P 8, turn and P 6 back, dec by P tog the last 2 sts, turn *, repeat from *-* a total of 4 times = 18-18-19 sts. REMEMBER - you will also need to read the pattern to be able to follow. To see a pattern with this technique, go to: DROPS 131-25
In this video we show how you can knit stripes in garter st and at the same time short rows. Knit as follows: 1st row (= RS): Work until 2 sts remain, turn and work back, work until 4 sts remain, turn and work back. Continue like this (work 2 sts less than previous time) until the last 2 sts on needle have been worked back and forth. Knit at the same time the stripes. Then K two rows (1 ridge) over all sts To see a pattern with this technique, see: DROPS 155-1 or click on the picture to the left.
