In this DROPS video we show how to knit 1 in stitch from previous round. This technique can be used to make a create rib, nice textures and also vertical stripes when using 2 colors, but in this video we only use 1 colour.

In this DROPS video we show how to decrease 4 stitches with 2-colour in English rib. Decrease 4 stitches as follows: slip the first stitch and yarn over onto the right needle as if to knit together, slip the purled stitch onto the right needle as if to purl, place the next stitch and yarn over on an extra needle in front of the piece, purl the next stitch on the left needle, pass the slipped purled stitch over the purled stitch just worked, place this stitch back on the left needle, pass the next stitch and yarn-over over the stitch you placed back on the left needle and slip this stitch onto the right needle, pass the first stitch and yarn-over over this stitch, place the stitch and yarn over from the extra needle back onto the left needle, slip the stitch on the right needle back onto the left needle, pass the stitch and yarn over (which were on the extra needle) over the last stitch placed on the left needle and slip the remaining stitch onto the right needle (= 4 stitches decreased). In this DROPS video we show how to decrease 2 stitches towards left and how to decrease 2 stitches towards right. First we show how to decrease towards left: = decrease 2 stitches towards the left as follows: slip the first stitch and yarn over onto the right needle as if to knit together, knit the next 2 stitches together (i.e. 1 purl + stitch and yarn over), pass the slipped stitch and yarn-over over the knitted together stitches (= 2 stitches decreased). In this DROPS video we show how to knit one stitch below (also known as K1B). "knit one below", "K1b" is a knitting technique that allows you to create rib, nice textures and also vertical stripes when using 2 colors as in our video. You knit as follows: insert your right needle through the stitch below the first st on the left needle, bring the yarn through and lift st off left needle. Cast on an uneven number of sts on double pointed needles or on a circular needle for a larger project. Row 1 (RS) green: K1, *K1, k1b*, repeat *-* and end with K2, slide sts to the right side of needle. Row 2 (RS) white: P1, *k1b, K1*, repeat *-* and end with k1b, P1, turn. Row 3 (WS) green: P1, *P1, purl1below*, repeat *-* and end with P2, slide sts to the right side of needle. Row 4 (WS) white: K1, *purl1below, P1*, repeat *-* and end with purl 1 below, K1, turn. In this DROPS video we show how to work a rib edge where we finish the rib with increase and English rib. We have already worked 3 cm rib (knit 1 twisted / purl 2) and start the video showing how to work in the stitch below the twisted knit stitch (i.e. stitch from previous round) like this: knit 1, 1 yarn over, knit (2 stitches increased), then purl 2 stitch together.
