In this DROPS video we show how you can weave in tails in stocking stitch.

Always weave in your tails on the wrong side of your knitted stocking st piece. With the needle and yarn follow the stitches sideways over 2 rows. Halfway through video we show you the same thing with a contrasting yarn to make it easier to follow.

As you can see with this method your weaved in tail will not show on your right side.

Buongiorno Alessandra. Intendiamo fermare i fili, nascondere le codine che rimangono quando si finisce un gomitolo e se ne inizia un altro. Con l'aiuto di un ago da lana, si fa passare il filo attraverso qualche maglia sul rovescio del lavoro, così da non correre il rischio che il lavoro possa disfarsi. Buon lavoro!

Buongiorno Alessandra. Se segue il metodo presentato nel video, una volta fissate le estremità non è necessario fare dei nodi, ma taglia il filo in eccesso. Non consigliamo di fare nodi per cambiare gomitoli: si possono sciogliere e rovinare il lavoro fatto. Buon lavoro!

Dear Mrs Birkeland, since DROPS 160-7 is written as a top down sweater, if you rather work it bottom up, you will have to make some adjustments like reading diagrams from top down. Remember your DROPS store will provide you any individual assistance, even per mail or telephone. Happy knitting!

How to weave in cotton tails

In this DROPS video we show how you can weave in tails on your crochet or knitted project. When using a cotton yarn, especially when it's thicker, it can be tricky. The tails will show and also may come out again when washing and wearing. A great trick is to split the strand into multiple thinner strands and then sew these thinner strands away in different directions. This usually comes out invisible and will not come undone. In this DROPS video we show how you can weave in ends on your work. When knitting with multiple colors or when just changing from one to another color, you can weave in the end as you continue with the new color. When you start the new color you want to make sure to twist the loose end around your previous color to avoid a hole, then place the working yarn behind the tail, and pick up the yarn alternating above and under the tail end to weave it in.
