Hallo!

Buon lavoro!

How do I measure out how long the three strands of kid silk will be needed for the bind-off? I only have one ball of this yarn, so I will have to cut strands out of the ball.
26.03.2021 - 07:35DROPS Design answered:
Hi Donna, You are casting off with 3 strands Kid Silk, one of which you have been using all the way through the shawl. The other 2 can be taken from 1 ball (one strand from the outside of the ball and one from the inside) without the need to cut to a particular length. Happy knitting!

Hello, I’m concerned about the amounts of each yarn needed to kit the shawl. 50gm Sky has 190m yarn so 150gms = 570m approximately. 25gms Kid-Silk has 210m so 50gms = 420m approximately. It appears that I’ll be 150m of Kid-Silk short or will I just have 150m of the Sky left over? I’m happy to go ahead and order but just thought I’d ask! I love your yarns and patterns! Many thanks Vicki
16.12.2020 - 13:59DROPS Design answered:
Dear Mrs Grierson, since both yarns do not have same yardage/weight, you will need a different amount of balls in each, as you said 3 balls Sky and 2 balls Kid-Silk - should your tension be correct, then you should have enough yarn. Read more about tension here. Happy knitting!

Bon tricot!
