Pattern instructions

MEN’S SWEATER:

Pattern: See diagram M.1 and M.2. The pattern is seen from the right side and is knit entirely in stockinette st. The chart is identical for all adult sizes.

Rib: *K 1, P 1*, repeat from * - *.

Body: Cast on 276-288 (300-312) sts with gray blue on smaller circular needles; join and place a marker at the join. Knit 6 cm rib. Change to larger circular needles and knit stockinette st until the work measures 27-28 (29-31) cm . Knit M.2, centering the pattern across the front and back. When M.2 has been knitted 1 time vertically, knit M.1. At the same time, when the work measures 43-44 (46-48) cm, bind off 2 sts for armhole, 134-140 (146-152) sts for the front, bind off 4 sts for armhole, 134-140 (146-152) sts for the back, bind off 2 sts for armhole. Knit the rest of the front and back separately.
Front: = 134-140 (146-152) sts. Bind off for armholes each side every other row: 2 sts 1-2 (2-3) times, 1 st 3 times = 124-126 (132-134) sts. After M.1 is complete, continue knitting with stockinette st and marine. When the work measures 62-64 (66-69) cm bind off the center 20-22 (24-24) sts for the neck. Bind off at each neck edge every other row: 3 sts 1 time, 2 sts 3 times, 1 st 3 times. Bind off when the work measures 68-70 (72-75) cm
Back: = 134-140 (146-152) sts. Bind off for armholes as on the front = 124-126 (132-134) sts. After M.1 is complete, continue knitting with stockinette st and navy. When the work measures 66-68 (70-73) cm , bind off the center 38-40 (42-42) sts for the neck. Bind off at each neck edge every other row: 2 sts 1 time, 1 st 1 time. Bind off when the work measures 68-70 (72-75) cm .
Sleeves: Cast on 64-66 (66-68) sts on smaller double pointed needles with gray blue; join and place a marker at the join. Knit 6 cm rib. Change to larger double pointed needles and stockinette stitch. After the rib, inc 1 st each side of marker 26-27 (27-28) times:
Sizes S/M + M/L + XXL: alternately every 4th and 5th row
Size XL: every 5th row
= 116-120 (120-124) sts. At the same time, when the work measures 47-49 (50-51) cm knit M.2, centering the pattern on the sleeve. After M.2 knit 1 row brown, then stockinette st and navy to finished dimensions. At the same time, when the work measures 51-52 (53-53) cm , bind off 2 sts each side of marker and knit the rest back and forth on the needles. Then bind off for sleeve caps each side every other row: 5-5 (5-4) sts 7-8 (8-10) times, bind off. The work measures approx. 56-58 (59-60) cm .

Assembly: Sew shoulder seams. Pick up approx. 108-118 sts around the neck on smaller double pointed needles with gray blue; join and knit 6 cm rib, bind off. Fold the neck edge over against the wrong side and sew. Sew on the sleeves.

CHILD’S SWEATER

Pattern: See diagram M.1 and M.2. The pattern is seen from the right side and is knit entirely in stockinette st. Arrows indicate the suggested ending row for different sizes.

Rib: *K 1, P 1*, repeat from * - *.

Body: Cast on 168-180-192-216 (228-240-252) sts with gray blue on smaller circular needles; join and place a marker at the join. Knit 4-4-5-5 (5-6-6) cm rib. Change to larger circular needles and knit stockinette st until the work measures approx. 18-18-20-21 (23-24-26) cm . Then knit M.2 (center the pattern across the front and back) When M.2 has been knitted 1 time vertically, continue with M.1 until the work measures approx. 31-33-35-39 (41-42-44) cm - adjust so pattern looks complete. (Suggested:
Size 2 years: 22 rows of M.1
Sizes 3/4 + 5/6 years: 29 rows of M.1
Sizes 7/8 + 9/10 + 11/12 + 13/14 years: 37 rows of M.1
At the same time, when the work measures 27-28-30-33 (34-35-37) cm , knit the next row as follows: bind off 2 sts for armhole, 80-86-92-104 (110-116-122) sts for the front, bind off 4 sts for armhole, 80-86-92-104 (110-116-122) sts for the back, bind off 2 sts for armhole. Knit the rest of the front and back separately.

Front: = 80-86-92-104 (110-116-122) sts. Bind off for armholes each side every other row: 2 sts 1-1-0-1 (2-2-2) times, 1 st 2-1-2-3 (3-3-3) times = 72-80-88-94 (96-102-108) sts. When M.1 has been knit so that the work measures approx. 31-33-35-39 (41-42-44) cm , continue knitting with stockinette st and navy. When the work measures 37-41-44-48 (50-52-55) cm , bind off the center 12-18-18-22 (22-24-24) sts for the neck. Bind off at each neck edge every other row: 3 sts 1 time, 2 sts 2 times, 1 st 2 times. Bind off when the work measures 41-45-48-53 (55-57-60) cm .

Back: = 80-86-92-104 (110-116-122) sts. Bind off for armholes as on the front = 72-80-88-94 (96-102-108) sts. Knit M.1 as far as on the front, then continue knitting with stockinette st and navy. When the work measures 39-43-46-51 (53-55-58) cm , bind off the center 26-32-32-36 (36-38-38) sts for the neck. Bind off 2 sts at each neck edge on the next row. Bind off when the work measures 41-45-48-53 (55-57-60) cm .

Sleeves: Cast on 46-46-50-56 (56-58-58) sts on smaller double pointed needles with gray blue; join and place a marker at the join. Knit 4-4-5-5 (5-6-6) cm rib. Change to larger double pointed needles and stockinette st. After the rib, inc 1 st each side of marker 9-16-16-18 (20-22-24) times:
Size 2 years: every 7th row
Sizes 3/4 + 7/8 + 9/10 + 11/12 + 13-14 years: alternately every 4th and 5th row
Size 5/6 years: every 5th row
= 64-78-82-92 (96-102-106) sts. At the same time, when the work measures 23-26-29-32 (37-39-43) cm , knit M.2 centering the pattern on the sleeve. After M.2 knit 1 row brown, then stockinette st and navy to finished dimensions. At the same time, when the work measures 26-30-33-35 (39-42-46) cm , bind off 2 sts each side of marker and knit the rest back and forth on the needles. Bind off for sleeve caps each side every other row: 3-5-5-4 (4-4-4) sts 7-5-5-7 (8-8-8) times, bind off. The work measures approx. 31-34-37-40 (45-48-52) cm .

Assembly: Sew shoulder seams. Pick up approx. 80-110 sts around the neck on smaller double pointed needles with gray blue and knit 6 cm rib, bind off. Fold the neck edge over against the wrong side and sew. Sew on the sleeves.
