PATTERN:
See diagrams A.1 to A.4. Diagrams A.2 and A.4 show how round beg and ends.

COLOURS FRONT:
Cast-on + rounds 1-5: off white.
Rounds 6 and 7: taupe

POT HOLDER:
Work 2 parts, 1 front and 1 back, then work these tog.

FRONT:
Crochet 5 ch on hook size 3.5 mm with off white and form a ring with 1 sl st in first ch. Then work in the round according to diagram A.1 (repeat A.1 6 times in total on round) - A.2 shows how round beg and end - READ COLOURS FRONT. REMEMBER THE CROCHET TENSION! Fasten off.

BACK:
Work entire back in taupe. Work 5 ch on hook size 3.5 mm with taupe and form a ring with 1 sl st in first ch.
Then work in the round according to diagram A.3 (repeat A.3 6 times in total on round) - A.4 shows how round beg and end. Fasten off.

ASSEMBLY:
Place the 2 pot holders tog, WS against WS and work them tog through both layers with taupe as follows: Beg in one corner and work * (1 dc, 2 ch, 1 dc) around ch-space, work 1 dc in every st until next ch-space *, repeat from *-* the entire round but in last ch-space work (1 dc, 16 ch, 1 dc) = strap. Fasten off.

Work another pot holder the same way.

= work 2 dtr tog: * Make 2 YOs, insert hook in next st, get yarn, make 1 YO and pull yarn through the first 2 sts on hook, make 1 YO and pull yarn through the next 2 sts on hook *, repeat from *-* one more time, make 1 YO and pull yarn through all 3 sts on hook (= 1 dtr dec).
= beg round with 3 ch Finish round with 1 sl st in 3rd ch.
= beg round with 4 ch Finish round with 1 sl st in 4th ch.
= work 5 ch and form a ring with 1 sl st in first ch. Black dot is beg of round.
