CARDIGAN: Gauge: 15 sts x 22 rows with 1 strand Paris + 1 strand Cotton Viscose on larger needles in stockinette st = 10 x 10 cm [4" x 4"]. Garter st, when knitting flat: Knit all sts, all rows. Knitting tips for decreasing (for armhole and neck): All decs are made on right side. Dec 1 st inside 3 edge sts in stockinette st at armhole edge and in garter st at neck edge. There are 2 different decs, 1 with holes and 1 without. 1st dec (with holes): Before 3 edge sts: yo, K 3 tog. After 3 edge sts: sl 1, K 2 tog, psso, yo. 2nd dec (without holes): Before 3 edge sts: K 2 tog. After 3 edge sts: sl 1, K 1, psso. Back: Cast on 64-70-76-80 sts on smaller needles with 1 strand pink Paris + 1 strand pink Cotton Viscose. Knit 2 rows garter st, change to larger needles and stockinette st over all sts. When the piece measures 6 cm [2⅜"] inc 1 st at each side 3-3-3-4 times every 8-8.5-9-7 cm [3⅛" - 3⅜" - 3.5" - 2.75"] = 70-76-82-88 sts. At the same time when the piece measures 12-13-14-15 cm [4.75" - 5⅛" - 5.5" - 5⅞"] change to 1 strand beige Paris + 1 strand pink Cotton Viscose. When the piece measures 33-35-36-37 cm [13" - 13.75" - 14⅛" - 14.5"] bind off 3-4-3-3 sts for armhole at each side = 64-68-76-82 sts. Then dec at armhole edge as follows: Size S: using 1st dec (with holes), dec 1 st every 4 rows 4 times = 4 holes along armhole, 56 sts remain. Size M: using 1st dec (with holes) dec 1 st every 4 rows 5 times = 5 holes along armhole, 58 sts remain. Size L: alternating 1st dec (with holes) and 2nd decs (without holes) dec 1 st every other row 9 times = 5 holes along armhole, 58 sts remain. Size XL: alternating 1st dec (with holes) and 2nd dec (without holes) dec 1 st every other row 11 times = 6 holes along armhole, 60 sts remain. When the piece measures 49-51-53-55 cm [19.25" - 20" - 20⅞" - 21⅝"] knit 2 rows garter st over the center 28-30-30-30 sts. On the next row bind off the center 22-24-24-24 sts for the neck = 17-17-17-18 sts remain on each shoulder. Continue in stockinette st with 3 sts in garter st at each neck edge. Bind off when the piece measures 52-54-56-58 cm [20.5" - 21.25" - 22" - 22⅞"]. Right front: Cast on 33-36-39-41 sts on smaller needles with 1 strand pink Paris + 1 strand pink Cotton Viscose. Knit 2 rows garter st, change to larger needles and stockinette st, but keep 4 button band sts at the center front in garter st throughout. When the piece measures 6 cm [2⅜"] inc at the side as on back = 36-39-42-45 sts. At the same time when the piece measures 12-13-14-15 cm [4.75" - 5⅛" - 5.5" - 5⅞"] change to 1 strand beige Paris + 1 strand pink Cotton Viscose. When the piece measures 33-35-36-37 cm [13" - 13.75" - 14⅛" - 14.5"] bind off for armhole at the side as on back. At the same time when the piece measures 39-41-43-45 cm [15.25" - 16⅛" - 16⅞" - 17.75"] knit 2 rows garter st over 9 sts at the center front (incl. button band sts), on the next row bind off 6 sts at the center front for the neck. Then dec 1 st for the neck every other row 6-7-7-7 times keeping 3 edge sts at center front in garter st throughout - alternate 1st dec (with holes) and 2nd dec (without holes) every other time over all sts = 3-4-4-4 holes along neck. Continue in stockinette st keeping 3 sts in garter st at neck edge until the piece measures 52-54-56-58 cm [20.5" - 21.25" - 22" - 22⅞"], then bind off the remaining 17-17-17-18 sts on shoulder. Left front: Cast on and knit the same as the right, reversing all shaping. Sleeve: Cast on 34-36-38-40 sts on smaller needles with 1 strand beige Paris + 1 strand pink Cotton Viscose. Knit 2 rows garter st. Change to larger needles and stockinette st. When the piece measures 5-5-6-6 cm [2" - 2" - 2⅜" - 2⅜"] inc 1 st at each side 10-9-9-10 times every 4.5-5-4.5-4 cm [1.75" - 2" - 1.75" - 1.5"] = 54-54-56-60 sts. When sleeves measures 49-48-47-46 cm [19.25" - 18⅞" - 18.5" - 18⅛"] bind off for sleeve cap at each side every other row: 3 sts 1-1-1-1 time, 2 sts 3-3-1-1 times, 1 st 1-3-7-9 times, then 2 sts at each side until the piece measures 56-56-57-57 cm [22" - 22" - 22.5" - 22.5"] and then bind off 3 sts at each side 1 time. The piece measures approx. 57-57-58-58 cm [22.5" - 22.5" - 22⅞" - 22⅞"], bind off the remaining sts. Assembly: Sew shoulder seams. Sew in sleeves. Sew sleeve and side seams using edge sts as a seam allowance. Button loops: Crochet with beige Paris. 1 loop = 1 sc in outermost button band st, ch 5, fasten with 1 sc 1 cm [3/8"] below. Start at the top on the right button band and make 3 loops with approx. 8 cm [3⅛"] between each button loop. Crocheted buttons: Crochet with pink Cotton Viscose around buttons as follows: Ch 4, join into a ring with 1 sl st. Continue as follows: 1st row: 6 sc in the ring 2nd row: 2 sc in each sc from previous row = 12 sc. 3rd row: inc 1 sc in every other sc from previous row = 18 sc. 4th row: 1 sc in every sc from previous rows = 18 sc. 5th row: dec 6 sc by skipping over every 3rd sc from previous row = 12 sc. 6th row: dec 6 sc by skipping over every other sc from previous row = 6 sc. Turn the piece inside out. Put button inside and pull yarn through the remaining sts and fasten. Make 3 such buttons and sew along left button band on the cardigan. TOP: Sizes: S - M - L - XL Finished measurements: Bust: 80-88-96-104 cm [31.5" - 34⅝" - 37.75" - 41"] Waist: 72-78-82-88 cm [28.25" - 30.75" - 32.25" - 34⅝"] Materials: Garnstudio PARIS 100% cotton, 50 g/75 m./82 yards 200-200-250-250 g. col. no. 26, dark beige. and use: Garnstudio COTTON-VISCOSE, 54% Egyptian cotton, 46% viscose, 50 g./110 m./120 yards 150-150-200-200 g. col. no. 17, light beige. Alternate yarns for Paris: * Garnstudio ALASKA, 100% pure new wool, 50 g/75 m./82 yards Alternate yarns for Cotton Viscose: * Garnstudio SAFRAN, 100% cotton, 50 g/160 m./174 yards * Garnstudio SILKE-TWEED, 52% silk, 48% lambswool, 50 g./200 m./218 yards DROPS 4 mm [US 6] and 6 mm [US 10] needles, or sizes needed to obtain correct gauge. Gauge: 15 sts x 22 rows with 1 strand Paris + 1 strand Cotton Viscose on larger needles in stockinette st = 10 x 10 cm [4" x 4"]. Rib: * K 1, P 1 *, repeat from * - *. Garter st, when knitting flat: Knit all sts, all rows. Knitting tips for decreasing: Make decs for armhole inside 7 edge sts. Dec 1 st as follows on right side row: Before 7 edge sts: K 2 tog. After 7 edge sts: sl 1, K 1, psso. Dec 1 st as follows on wrong side row: Before 7 edge sts: P 2 tog. After 7 edge sts: sl 2 sts off needle, put back on left needle twisted, P 2 tog. Front: Cast on 56-60-64-68 sts on smaller needles with 1 strand Paris + 1 strand Cotton Viscose. Knit rib for 3 cm [1.25"], keeping 1 st at each edge in garter st. Change to larger needles and stockinette st over all sts. When the piece measures 5 cm [2"] inc 1 st at each side 3-4-5-6 times every 6-5-4-3.5 cm [2⅜" - 2" - 1.5" - 1⅜"] = 62-68-74-80 sts. When the piece measures 27-28-29-30 cm [10⅝" - 11" - 11⅜" - 11.75"] dec 1 st at each side = 60-66-72-78 sts. Now knit the 7 sts at each side as follows (seen from the right side): K 1 (edge st knit in garter st throughout), K 1, P 1, K 1, P 1, K 1, P 1. At the same time dec 1 st for armhole inside the 7 edge sts - see knitting tips - 5-6-7-8 times every row, then 5-6-6-6 times every other row = 40-42-46-50 sts remain. Now P 1 row (as seen from the right side) over the center 24-26-30-34 sts. On the next row bind off the center 22-24-28-32 sts for neck - bind off with P sts as seen from the right side - 9 sts remain at each side. Continue in rib keeping 1 st in garter st at each side. Bind off when strap measures approx. 28-28-28-30 cm [11" - 11" - 11" - 11.75"]. Back: Cast on and knit the same as the front, but after the row when you P 1 row over the center 24-26-30-34 sts, bind off all sts in pattern. Assembly: Sew side seams using edge sts as a seam allowance. Sew straps to back. |
