BLANKET:
Worked in garter st back and forth on circular needle to make room for all the sts. Work from corner to corner.

Cast on 3 sts on circular needle size 5 mm with beige/blue and work 1 ridge in GARTER ST - see explanation above. Then work in garter st and STRIPES – see explanation above, AT THE SAME TIME inc 1 st at beg of every row by making 1 YO inside 1 edge st. On next row K YO twisted to avoid holes. Repeat inc at beg of every row (both from RS and WS) until piece measures 85 cm along both sides. REMEMBER THE KNITTING TENSION
Work 1 ridge without inc. Then continue with stripes as before - AT THE SAME TIME dec 1 st at beg of row from RS by working the 2 outermost sts inside 1 edge st K twisted tog - AT THE SAME TIME at the end of the same row (i.e. at the end of row from RS) inc 1 new st by making 1 YO inside 1 edge st, turn and K back without dec/inc (K YO twisted).
Repeat dec at beg of row and inc at the end of row every other row upwards (i.e. on every row from RS - no of sts is constant), until piece measures 130 cm along the longest side on blanket.
Continue with stripes AT THE SAME TIME dec 1 st at beg of every row by K 2 tog inside 1 edge st. Repeat dec at beg of every row (both from RS and WS) until 5 sts remain on row. Work next row from RS as follows: K 1, slip 1 st as if to K, K 2 tog, psso, K 1. Turn piece, K back and cast off the last 3 sts. Fasten all strands.

Julia 08.05.2018 - 06:00:

How soft or rough is this material? Would it be comfortable again bare skin or scratchy?

DROPS Design 08.05.2018 kl. 07:58:

Hi Julia, Delight is a super soft wool yarn, used for socks, cardigans and jumpers, so it will not be scratchy against the skin. Happy knitting!

Martina 15.03.2018 - 08:54:

Bon tricot!

Liz Barron 23.03.2017 - 10:52:

I'm about to start knitting this blanket with the beautiful yarn you suggest. When changing colours between stripes do you advise cutting yarn and sewing in ends, or weaving yarn up the side as you go along?

DROPS Design 23.03.2017 kl. 13:08:

Dear Mrs Barron, since you are changing colours every 2 rows (every ridge), you can carry along the yarn you are not working with - as shown in the video below. You can also change colour inside the edge sts if you rather - see here. Happy knitting!

Lynn 10.03.2016 - 02:45:

I am a intermediate crocheter. And a beginner knitter. I love the shawl the stripes are really pretty . And it looked light and airy. Gorgeous tops the pinks were nice. I love the spring colors of yarn . I like soft and silky yarns

Mooie kleurencombinatie. Het ziet er degelijk en tijdloos uit.

Essie Webber 28.12.2014 - 09:31:

(Cont.) ....there needs to be more items/garments made from *this* "dark" palette (w its soft color transitions preserved) to //anchor// such a large assemblage of pale color.

Essie Webber 28.12.2014 - 09:28:

Most importantly, this should be your keynote "dark" contrasting w the EXQUISITE collection of pastel/neutrals you have. The sea-sky blues mixed with the sand clay tile beige brown.... It is perfection in color and design on its own. But... ... I see your other color/dark contrasting items; clunky and "almost". Not the "dark" coherent anchor & counterpoint that underlies these pastels. Cont...
