Row 1 (= RS): Work until 6-6-7 sts remain, slip next st as if to K, K 1, psso, turn piece.
Row 2 (= WS): Work until 6-6-7 sts remain, slip next st as if to P, P 1, psso, turn piece.
Row 3 (= RS): Work until 5-5-6 sts remain, slip next st as if to K, K 1, psso, turn piece.
Row 4 (= WS): Work until 5-5-6 sts remain, slip next st as if to P, P 1, psso, turn piece.
Continue dec like this with 1 st less before each dec until there are 12-14-14 sts on needle.

Worked in the round on double pointed needles. Cast on 68-68-72 sts on double pointed needles size 2.5 mm / US 1.5 with Fabel. Work 1 round in stockinette st. Continue in rib = K 2/P 2 for 4 cm / 1½''. Then work 1 round in stockinette st, AT THE SAME TIME dec 2-2-6 sts evenly = 66-66-66 sts. Then work A.1 over all sts (= 6 repetitions of A.1 in width)
When piece measures 11-12-13 cm / 4½"-4 3/4"-5", keep the first 24-24-24 sts on needle for heel and slip the last 42-42-42 sts on 1 stitch holder (= mid on top of foot). Work in stockinette st back and forth over heel sts for 5-5½-6 cm / 2''-2 1/4''-2½'', AT THE SAME TIME on 1st row adjust no of sts to 22-24-26. Insert 1 marker in the piece. Then work HEEL DECREASE - see explanation above. After heel dec, pick up 11-11-12 sts on each side of heel and slip the 42 sts from stitch holder back on needle = 76-78-80 sts. Insert 1 marker on each side of the middle 42 sts on upper foot. Continue with A.1 as before over the sts on top of foot and in stockinette st over sts under foot – AT THE SAME TIME dec in each side as follows: K the 2 last sts before first marker on top of foot tog and K the first 2 sts after last marker on top of foot twisted tog. Repeat dec every other round 8 times in total = 60-62-64 sts. Work until piece measures 18-19-21 cm / 7''-7½''-8¼'' marker on heel (= 4-5-6 cm / 1½''-2''-2 3/8'' remain). Insert 1 marker in each side so that there are 30-31-32 sts both on top of foot and under foot. Continue working stockinette st while AT THE SAME TIME dec for toes on each side of both markers as follows:
Before marker: K 2 tog. After marker: K 2 twisted tog. Continue dec like this in each side every other round 4-7-9 times in total and then every round 6-4-3 times = 20-18-16 sts. On next round work all sts tog 2 by 2. Cut the yarn and pull it through the remaining sts, tighten tog and fasten. Knit another sock.

So ähnlich sahen die Socken, die meine Oma früher für mich gestrickt hat auch aus. Sehr schön!

Elizabeth 29.03.2015 - 03:47:

Pattern 161-39 How many stitches on each of my three needles please.

DROPS Design 30.03.2015 kl. 15:31:

Dear Elizabeth, if you are working with 3 dpn, you will have 22+23+23 sts in first 2 sizes and 24 sts on each dpn in largest size. Happy knitting!

Birgit 23.02.2015 - 10:48:

Ich habe diese Socken gestrickt. Ein sehr schönes Muster. Die Söckchen passen nach meiner Erfahrung jedoch besser, wenn sie mit einem Mustersatz weniger gestrickt sind.
