GARTER ST (back and forth on needle):
K all rows. 1 ridge = 2 rows K.

DECREASE TIP (applies to hat):
Work until 1 st remains before marker and K 3 tog. NOTE: After first row with dec move the markers so that markers on next rows are in the remaining 1 st from the K 3 tog.
----------------------------------------------------------

HAT:
Worked back and forth on needle.
Cast on 120-128 sts on needle size 3 mm with brown. Work 2 RIDGES in garter st - see explanation above (1st row = RS). Switch to wooden rose and continue in garter st. REMEMBER THE KNITTING TENSION! When piece measures 20-21 cm, insert 4 markers in the piece as follows: Insert 1st marker after the first 15-16 sts on row, insert the next 3 markers 30-32 sts apart = 15-16 sts on row after last marker.
On next row from RS switch back to brown. Continue in garter st AT THE SAME TIME on 1st row from RS dec 2 sts at every marker – READ DECREASE TIP (= 8 sts dec). Repeat dec every other row (i.e. every row from RS – remember to move the marker so that it is in rem st from previous dec), 12-13 more times (= 13-14 times in total) = 16 sts remain on row. On next row from RS K all sts tog 2 by 2 = 8 sts remain on row. Cut the yarn and pull it through the remaining sts, tighten tog and fasten. Hat measures approx. 25-27 cm. Sew hat tog mid back - sew edge to edge in front loop of outermost sts.
----------------------------------------------------------

NECK WARMER:
The piece is worked back and forth on circular needle because of no of sts.
Cast on 172 sts on circular needle size 5 mm with brown. Work 3 RIDGES in garter st - see explanation above (1st row = RS). Switch to wooden rose and continue in garter st. REMEMBER THE KNITTING TENSION! When piece measures approx. 16 cm (adjust so that next row is from RS), switch back to brown. Work 3 ridges in garter st, switch back to wooden rose and continue in garter st. When piece measures approx. 33 cm (adjust so that next row is from RS), switch back to brown again. Work 3 ridges in garter st and loosely cast off.
Sew neck warmer tog in the side to form a ring - sew edge to edge in front loop of outermost sts.

DROPS Design 17.10.2014 kl. 16:34:

Buongiorno Emiliana.

Buon lavoro!!

Mary 27.11.2013 - 10:05:

About the pattern 151-42, please inform me about the decreases. If I place the markers every 16 sts, the remaining sts at the end of the row will be 64. Is it right?

DROPS Design 27.11.2013 kl. 11:38:

Dear Mary, for hat: insert first marker after first 16 sts, then another one after 32 sts, then one more after 32 sts and the last one after 32 more sts, you will have 16 sts left until end of row (2nd size). Happy knitting!

Bettina 20.06.2013 - 10:22:

I like it
