DROPS pot holders. Round pot holder knitted with turns in ”Muskat Soft” and square pot holder crochet in ”Safran”.

ROUND POT HOLDER:
Measurements: Diameter approx 21 cm.
Materials: DROPS MUSKAT SOFT from Garnstudio
For 1 pot holder:
100 g colour no 15, pink/yellow/beige

DROPS POINTED NEEDLES size 4 mm - or size needed to get 19 sts x 25 rows in garter st with 2 threads = 10 x 10 cm.

SQUARE POT HOLDER:
Measurements: approx 18 x 18 cm.
Materials: DROPS SAFRAN from Garnstudio
For 1 pot holder:
50 g colour no 01, light pink

DROPS CROCHET HOOK size 3.5 mm – or size needed to get 18 tr with 2 threads = width 10 cm.

Pattern instructions

NOTE: This pattern is written in British English. All measurements in charts are in cm. For conversion from cm to inches - click here. There are different terms for crocheting in British and American English. If this pattern includes crochet, click for "crochet terms" here. For this pattern in American English, please click here.
ROUND POT HOLDER:
Worked back and forth on needle and sewn tog. Worked in garter st, i.e. K all rows. Cast on 20 sts on needle size 4 mm with 2 threads Muskat Soft. NOTE! Leave approx 30 cm of one thread and use this to tighten pot holder tog in the middle, tighten as you go along.
K 1 row from WS and continue with turns as follows:
* Work the first 5 sts, turn and work return row, work the first 10 sts, turn and work return row, work the first 15 sts, turn and work return row, work all sts, turn and work return row *. Repeat from *-* until there are approx 30 repeats. K 1 row from RS on all sts and now work next row with strap as follows from WS: Work row until 2 sts remain, cast on 15 new sts, K tog the last 2 sts on needle. On next row cast off with K sts.

ASSEMBLY:
Tighten thread in the middle and fasten. Sew cast on row to cast off row.

SQUARE POT HOLDER:
Pattern: See diagram M.1.

Crochet 35 ch with crochet hook size 3.5 mm and 2 threads Safran. Work 1 tr in 4th ch from hook, then 1 tr in each of the next 31 ch = 33 tr.
Continue in M.1A. After 3 vertical repeats of M.1A, work 1 vertical repeat of M.1B. Now continue round the pot holder for border as follows:
After the last tr crochet approx 15 ch (strap), fasten with 1 sl st in the last tr. Crochet 2 ch, * skip approx 1 cm, 1 dc round the edge of pot holder, 2 ch *, repeat from *-* and finish with 1 sl st in sl st from beg on round. Crochet approx 20 dc round the strap and finish with 1 sl st in sl st. Cut and fasten thread.
