WAISTCOAT:
Pattern: See diagram (1 diagram = 1 repeat). Pattern is read from right to left, and is seen from RS.

Rib: *K1, P1. Repeat from * - *.

Waistcoat: Waistcoat is knitted back and forth on circ needle. Cast on 288 (306-324) sts on long circ needle size 3mm. Work 4cm rib.
Change to circ needle size 4mm and continue in pattern.
Remember to check your tension. Continue until piece measures 39 (43-46) cm.
Next row: 72 (77-81) sts for front, 144 (152-162) sts for back, 72 (77-81) sts for front. Each piece is finished separately.

Left front: = 72 (77-81) sts. Continue in pattern until piece measures 50 (50-50) cm. Dec for neck on every other row as follows: 1 st 12-(10-10) times and then on every 3rd row as follows: 1 st 8 (13-13) times = 52 (54-58) sts. Continue until piece measures 65 (70-73) cm. Cast off for shoulder on every other row as follows: 4 (5-7) sts twice, 11 sts 4 (4-4) times. All sts are now cast off and piece measures approx 70 (75-78) cm.

Right front: = 72 (77-81) sts. Work as left front.

Back: = 144 (152-162) sts. Continue in pattern until piece measures 65 (70-73) cm. Cast off for shoulders as on front and at the same time when piece measures 68 (73-76) cm, cast off centre 34 (38-40) sts for neck, then dec 3 sts at neck edge on next row. All sts are now cast off and piece measures approx 70 (75-78) cm.

Assembly: Sew shoulder seams. Pick up approx 120-130 sts around each arm hole on circ needle size 3mm and work 2 cm rib. Cast off loosely. Pick up approx 170 (180-190) sts along left front as far as centre back (approx 110 sts up to neck, approx 40 (50-60) sts up to shoulder, approx 20 sts to centre back neck) on circ needle size 3mm and work 3 cm rib back and forth on needle. Cast off.
Pick up approx 110 sts on circ needle size 3mm along left edge inside the rib edge in the same sts picked up earlier but only as far as neck. Work 2cm rib. Cast off. Repeat along right side. You have now made a pocket for the zip tape. Insert zip between the two rib edges on left front and sew. Repeat on right side.

SOCKS
Rib: K1. P1.

Single Decrease: *S1, K1 (purl side = P1), psso.*

Decreasing for heel:
1st row (RS) Work until 6 (7) sts remain on needle. Turn work.
2nd row: (WS) Work until 6 (7) sts remain on needle. Turn work. 3rd row: Work until 8 sts remain on needle, work single decrease (see description). Turn work.
4th row: Work until 8 sts remain on needle, work single decrease. Turn work. Continue and work so there is 1 sts less each side before the single decrease is worked. Continue until 12 (14) sts remain.

Sock: Cast on 72 (80) sts on double pointed needles size 2.5mm with grey and work 28 (32) cm rib, but change to double pointed needles size 3mm after 5 cm.
Work rib and at the same time dec 24 (28) sts evenly on first round = 48 (52) sts. When rib is completed put centre 24 (26) sts on a thread. Remember to check your tension. Work 5 (6) cm in stocking st. (heel) over centre the 24 (26) sts and then decrease for heel (see description). Pick up 12 (13) sts each side of heel and put all sts on one needle = 60 (66) sts. Continue to dec as follows on each side of the upper 24 (26) sts: K2 tog at beginning and end on every other row 6 times = 48 (54) sts. Continue until foot measures 19 (21.5) cm. Put a marker each side of foot and dec for toes each side of marker as follows: K2 tog before and after marker on every other row 3 times = 36 (42) sts, then on every row 7 (9) times = 8 (6) sts. Pull thread trough remaining sts and fasten.

This pattern has been corrected. .

Correction socks: Pick up 12 (13) sts each side of heel and put all sts on one needle = 60 (66) sts.
