How to knit the rib with displacement on the socks in DROPS 150-20

In this DROPS video we show how to get the rib on the left sock in DROPS 150-20 to twist to the right.

Insert 1 marker in a K (knit) stitch in each side of the sock according to the pattern. At the first st with marker dec on every round by slipping the K st , K the next st and pass the slipped stitch over. Continue rib with K over K and P over P until you get to the next marker in the other side. Now make a yo before the K st, and repeat on every round. On next round K YO twisted (i.e. knit in the back loop of st) and make a new yo right before the K st with marker.

We knit several rounds to show the procedure and finally we show how it looks when you have knitted about 20 rounds. In the pattern there are more sts on the sock than what we show in the video and therefore more stitches between the 2 markers.

These socks are made in DROPS Fabel, but in the video we knit with a thicker yarn; DROPS Snow.

In this DROPS video, we show you how to knit a sock with a gusset heel - arguably the most common method for working a heel. To begin, the stitches on top of the foot are placed on a thread, while the stitches at the back are kept on the needles and the heel is worked as follows: 1) The heel is first worked in height, back and forth across the heel-stitches. 2) Next, the bottom of the heel is worked to the required width and length by working short rows and decreasing stitches. 3) Once this step is completed, continue knitting in the round across all stitches, knitting up stitches on both sides of the heel (along the length). 4) The width and shape of the foot is worked by decreasing stitches on both sides, forming a small gusset heel – that is why this type of heel is known as a gusset heel.

In this DROPS video we show how to work the “Carrot Squash” slippers in DROPS 203-37. We have already cast on stitches for size 35/37 and start the video by showing round 1 (only Knit). Then the rib, K1, P1. After the rib put 31 stitches on a stitch holder, work the other stitches back and forth. Then work these stitches, the new pickup stitches along the sides and the stitches from the stitch holder, and work around again. Decrease stitches and work around to finish measurement, cast off and fold the slipper and sew under foot in the outermost loop of the outermost stitch.
