How to cast on with 3 colours

In this DROPS video we show how to cast on with 3 colours.

This is a similar cast on technique as you use on a long tail cast on, but here we are casting on with 3 strands in different colors. First make a slipknot to hold all three strands together (the slipknot is untied when finished cast on). We will use one color as the edging and this strand goes around the thumb, and the other 2 colors will be alternated in the new sts as shown in video.
Perfect start on a diagonal striped piece, like a cuff or hem, on a fair isle pattern that starts immediately after cast on, or for twined knitting.

In this DROPS video, we show you how to work each front piece with diagonal shoulders and short rows, the piece is worked bottom up. Then we show how to increase 1 stitch 3 times towards the neckline, which is now the back piece. Then we show the same for the left shoulder and finally cast on 12 stitches between the shoulders before the shoulders are knitted together. We use the yarn DROPS Snow in the video. This technique is used among other things in pattern DROPS 255-9, Driftwood Vest, with a different stitch count, number of short rows and cast-on stitches.
