How to make a yarn over (yo)

In this DROPS video we show how you can make a yarn over (yo).

With a yarn over you can create a decorative hole. In the video we show 2 times how you increase 1 stitch by making a yarn over (yo). Halfway through the video we have turned the work and show you how to work the yo in front or back loop depending if you prefer a larger or smaller hole. When working the back loop the stitch becomes twisted and this way the hole becomes a bit smaller.

Bonjour Nathalie, on le fait de la même façon, entre 2 m end par ex placez votre fil devant l'ouvrage et tricotez la m suivante à l'end, le fil va s'enrouler autour de l'aig. droite et former le jeté. En fin de rang placez le également devant avant de glisser les mailles pour tricoter l'autre moitié. Vérifiez bien à chaque début/fin d'aig. que votre jeté est bien présent. Bon tricot!

Bonjour Madame Bourdin, tricotez la m avant et la m après comme indiqué dans le diagramme, et faites le jeté entre ces 2 m (ex: 1 m end, 1 jeté, 1 m end). Bon tricot !

Bonjour Tricotine, on peut tricoter 3 jetés de façon différentes sur l'envers, en fonction du modèle tricoté : on peut lâcher un ou plusieurs jeté (mailles allongées), ou les tricoter "normalement" ou torse (cf vidéo) en fonction de l'effet voulu. Bon tricot !

In this DROPS video we show how you can increase and make a new stitch by picking up the loop from the stitch on previous row. You can do it after or before a stitch just as we show in the video. Right side: put your left needle through stitch 2 rows below the stitch on the right needle. Lift it up on your left needle and knit it in the back loop. Left side: put your right needle into the stitch under the first stitch on your left needle. Pick up the loop and put it on your left needle. Knit this new stitch in the front loop, and also knit following stitch separate as usual.
