How to work a double knitted band without buttonholes
Pick up stitches at the top of the piece / by shoulder on front piece, pick up 1 stitch in every knitted row down along the piece or skip every 4-5 stitch, inside 1 edge stitch. Look at your pattern what it says.
After the pick up cast on 12 stitches for band (= at the bottom of the piece), but it can be different from pattern to pattern. Work band over the 12 stitches at the same time as band is knitted together with stitches picked up along the piece as follows:
ROW 1 (= wrong side): Knit 1, * slip 1 stitch on to right needle purlwise with strand in front of piece, knit 1 *, work from *-* until 1 stitch remains of the 12 band stitches, slip the next 2 stitches on to right needle purlwise with strand in front of piece, turn.
ROW 2 (= right side): Knit 2 together, *, slip 1 stitch on to right needle purlwise with strand in front of piece, knit 1 *, work from *-* until 1 stitch remains, slip last stitch on to right needle purlwise with strand in front of piece, turn.
Repeat rows 1 and 2.

Kan inte få till det på den vänstra sidan. Vill börja nedifrån eftersom jag ska sticka en halskant sen o då ska ju dessa maskor med. Stickar 5 maskor slätstickning. som sen ska vikas o sys fast , 5 maskor , 1r o 1 a, Får det inte snyggt närmast tröjan där man ska ha lyft två maskor. Hur jag är vrider o vänder.

Hei Ingrid. Denne videoen viser venstre stolpekanten (sett fra retten), men ta gjerne en til på videoen: Hur man dubbelstickar en framkant med knapphål /høyre stolpekant sett fra retten). Prøv å stram tråden godt når du skal strikke de 2 maskene som er løftet over. mvh DROPS Design

22.09.2025 - 08:28Hello. Could you please clarify how to bind off the double knitted band? The instructions say to "knit all stitches together 2 and 2" and then bind off. Does that mean to knit 2 stitches together across one row and then bind off?Thanks for your help.

Dear Rebekah, yes, that's correct. You knit together all stitches in total by knitting together every 2 stitches of the row. So you decrease to have half of the stitches than in the previous row and bind off the remaining stitches. Happy knitting!

Hei Silje. Det burde stå i den oppskriften du strikker etter. F.eks i DROPS 236-33 står det under HØYRE STOLPE: Når alle maskene fra forstykket er strikkes sammen med stolpen, strikkes alle maskene 2 og 2 rett sammen og felles av. OG under VENSTRE STOLPE står det: Når alle maskene fra forstykket er strikket sammen med stolpen, strikkes alle maskene sammen fra retten slik: Ta 1 maske løs over på høyre pinne som om den skulle strikkes rett, strikk 1 rett, løft den løse masken over, og felles av. mvh DROPS Design
02.01.2025 - 09:29Die gestrickte doppelte Blende (re) zieht sich enorm zusammen. Müssen mehr Maschen am Seitenteil aufgenommen werden, z.B. aus jeder 5. Masche zwei Maschen aufnehmen?

Liebe Jolanda, die Blende wird mit einer anderen Nadelgröße gestrickt, und die aufgenommene Anzahlnummer stimmt mit der Maschenprobe, beachten Sie, daß Ihre Maschen nicht zu fest/locker gestrickt sind, und versuchen Sie mit einer grösseren Nadelgröße wenn die Blende zusammen zieht. Viel Spaß beim stricken!
