INFORMATION FOR THE PATTERN:

RIDGE/GARTER STITCH (worked back and forth):
1 ridge = Knit 2 rows.

PATTERN:
See diagram A.1. The diagram shows all the rows in the pattern seen from the right side.

STRIPES:
Work stripes and pattern according to diagram A.1 as follows:
STRIPE 1: Work 8 rows grey blue
STRIPE 2: Work 8 rows light ice blue
STRIPE 3: Work 12 rows light blue
STRIPE 4: Work 8 rows petrol
STRIPE 5: Work 8 rows grey blue
STRIPE 6: Work 8 rows light ice blue

POTHOLDER:
The piece is worked back and forth with double strand.

Cast on 38 stitches with 2 strands grey blue and needle size 3 mm. Work 2 ridges - see description above. Then work the next row as follows: 5 stitches in garter stitch, A.1 repeated over the next 28 stitches and work 5 stitches in garter stitch. REMEMBER THE KNITTING TENSION! Read STRIPES and work garter stitch and pattern until STRIPE 6 has been worked (the piece measures approx. 23 cm). Continue with light ice blue and work 1 ridge. Then work the next row with inlaid loop as follows: Work until there are 2 stitches left. Before the last 2 stitches, cast on 7 new stitches on the needle, then knit together the last 2 stitches. On the next row cast off all stitches (the new stitches for the loop as well).
Cut and fasten the strands.
