GARTER ST (back and forth):
K all rows. 1 ridge = 2 rows K.

K 2 tog.

Worked back and forth on circular needle. Entire sock is worked in garter st and sewn tog when finished.

Cast on 63-68-74 sts on circular needle size 4 mm with Big Delight. Work in GARTER ST - see explanation above - AT THE SAME TIME work 2 sts in first st on every row from RS. REMEMBER THE KNITTING TENSION When 8-10-12 ridges have been worked, there are 71-78-86 sts on needle. Slip the last 41-47-53 sts (seen from RS) on a stitch holder, now only work over the first 30-31-33 sts. Work 8-10-12 ridges, K 2 sts in first st on every row from RS = 38-41-45 sts. Work next row as follows from RS: K 2 sts in first st, 37-40-44 sts, pick up 1 st in every ridge along short side at the end of row (= 8-10-12 sts), work the last 41-47-53 sts back on needle, AT THE SAME TIME K the last 2 sts from stitch holder tog = 87-98-110 sts. Continue in garter st, on every row from RS K 2 sts in first st and dec 1 st at the end of row – READ DECREASE TIP. Repeat dec and inc 4-5-6 times in total = 87-98-110 sts.

Work next row as follows from RS: Work 37-40-44 sts, K 2 tog, K 39-45-51, K the next 2 tog, turn and tighten the thread (7-9-11 sts remain on row), * K 39-45-51, K the next 2 tog, (37-40-44 sts remain on row) turn, tighten the thread and K 39-45-51, K the next 2 tog (6-8-10 sts remain on row), turn and tighten the thread *, repeat from *-* 6-8-10 more times - now no sts remain at the end of row (seen from RS), on last row from WS work the last 30-31-33 sts back on needle. Then work over all sts = 71-78-86 sts. Continue in garter st, work 2 sts in first st on row and dec 1 st at the end of every row from RS, work 4-5-6 ridges like this (no of sts stay the same). Cast off.

Beg in left side of piece. Sew the last 8-10-12 sts from cast-off edge tog with the first 8-10-12 ridges worked in the left side, sew 1 st from cast-off edge tog with 1 ridge. Then sew the rest of sts from cast-off edge tog with sts from cast-on edge. Sew opening at the front of sock (= toes).

Cast on and work as right sock but reversed, i.e. what was done from RS on right sock is now done on WS and vice versa.

Hallo, for the right sock i slip the last 41-47-53 sts (seen from RS). What must i do for the Left? I slip the last 41 seen from WS or slip the first 41 seen from RS? Thanks

DROPS Design 05.09.2019 kl. 09:11:

Dear Cristina, to make the left sock reversed you will now slip the first 41-47-53 sts seen from RS. Happy knitting!

Beverley Jenkins 27.05.2019 - 23:17:

Where you say knit 2 stitches in first stitch , do you mean there will be 3 stitches , the original stitch plus 2 stitches or just make 1 stitch

DROPS Design 28.05.2019 kl. 07:23:

Hi Beverley, You will increase 1 stitch by knitting 2 stitches in 1 stitch. Happy knitting!

Gusta 01.02.2019 - 12:36:

Hoe kan je hier een sok van maken voor om te dragen in teenslippers?

Gail Young 12.10.2018 - 21:09:

The instructions say work back and forth on the circular needle. Can one use ordinary needles instead?

DROPS Design 15.10.2018 kl. 11:35:

Dear Mrs Young, you are working here back and forth on circular needle to have enough room for all stitches, you can use straight needles, take just care to keep correct tension since stitches will be more tight. Happy knitting!

Bon tricot!

Annie Gabriel 16.01.2017 - 10:42:

At start of pattern instructions are: knit 2sts into first stitch every row FROM right side...... Does that mean only on the r. S. Rows? Thank you

DROPS Design 16.01.2017 kl. 10:45:

Dear Mrs Gabriel, that's correct, work 2 sts in first st on very row from RS (= at the beg of right side rows). Happy knitting!

Marisol 19.07.2016 - 15:19:
