Worked in the round on circular needle. Switch to double pointed needles when needed.
Cast on 104-108 sts on circular needle size 4 mm with Puna. NOTE: Do not turn piece but continue in the round on 1st row as follows: Work 3 rounds in stocking st. Now switch to circular needle size 3.5 mm. Work 4 rounds rib (= K 2/P 2). Switch back to circular needle size 4 mm and work in stocking st until piece measures 20-21 cm. REMEMBER THE KNITTING TENSION K 1 round while inc 4-0 sts evenly = 108 sts in both sizes. Now insert 6 markers in the piece, 18 sts apart. On next round, dec 1 st after every marker by K 2 tog after every marker. Dec like this every other round 11 times = 42 sts in both sizes. On the next 2 rounds K sts tog 2 by 2 = 11 sts. Hat measures approx. 28-29 cm. Cut the yarn and pull it through the remaining sts, tighten tog and fasten.
