DROPS STRAIGHT NEEDLE SIZE 7 mm - or size needed to get 12 sts x 24 rows in garter st = 10 x 10 cm.

NECK WARMER:
Size: One-size
Measurements: Height: approx. 26 cm Circumference: 65 cm

Pattern instructions

NOTE: This pattern is written in British English. All measurements in charts are in cm. For conversion from cm to inches - click here. GARTER ST (back and forth):
K all rows. 1 ridge = 2 rows K.

KNITTING TIP:
Every time piece is turned in the middle of piece, slip first st as if to K, tighten yarn and return, this is done to avoid holes in the transitions.

PATTERN:
See diagram A.1. The diagrams show all rows in pattern seen from RS.

HAT:
Worked back and forth on needle. Cast on 34-35-36 sts on needle size 7 mm with Eskimo. First row (= from RS) begins at bottom edge of hat. Work A.1 (= 9 sts), then work in GARTER ST -see explanation above - out towards the top of the hat. Continue like this while AT THE SAME TIME working short rows starting from RS - read KNITTING TIP: * Work back and forth over all sts, work 30 sts, turn and work back, work 24 sts, turn and work back *, repeat from *-* until piece measures approx. 50-52-54 cm (at the widest). REMEMBER THE KNITTING TENSION Cast off sts with K over K and P over P.

ASSEMBLY:
Sew tog cast on and cast off edge. Sew a thread through sts along the upper edge and tighten the hat tog.

NECK WARMER:
Worked back and forth on needle. Cast on 30 sts on needle size 8 mm with Eskimo. Work as follows from RS: 21 sts in GARTER ST - see explanation above, A.1 (= 9 sts). REMEMBER THE KNITTING TENSION Continue like this until piece measures 65 cm. Cast off sts with K over K and P over P.

ASSEMBLY:
Sew tog cast on edge to cast off edge in outer loops of edge sts to avoid a chunky seam.
