GARTER ST (back and forth):
K all rows. 1 ridge = 2 rows K.

See diagrams A.1 to A.3. The diagrams show all rows in pattern seen from RS.

Worked back and forth on needle.

Cast on 44 sts on needle size 4.5 mm with apricot. Work 2 ridges in GARTER ST - see explanation above. On next row work as follows (= RS): 1 edge st in garter st, work in stocking st until 1 st remains, 1 edge sts in garter st. Work 1 row from WS. REMEMBER THE KNITTING TENSION
Now work pattern as follows: Work A.1 (= 8 sts), A.2 (= 8 sts) 4 times in width, A.3 (= 4 sts). Continue like this until piece measures approx. 22 cm - adjust pattern to finish after 2nd row in pattern (so that pattern beg and ends the same). Now work 2 rows in stocking st with 1 edge st in garter st in each side. Then work 2 ridges over all sts. K 1 row and cast off with K from WS. Make sure that the cast-off edge is not too tight.
Work another cloth in each of the remaining colours.

= K from RS, P from WS
= P from RS, K from WS
