Pattern instructions

NOTE: This pattern is written in British English. All measurements in charts are in cm. For conversion from cm to inches - click here. CROCHET TR TOG:
Work 2 tr into 1 tr: Work 1 tr but wait with last pull through (= 2 sts on hook), then work next tr but on last pull through, pull thread through all sts on hook.

COLOURS ON SANTA:
Leg: 7 rounds black, 14 rounds light beige, 2 rounds red.
Arm: 4 rounds light beige, * 1 round medium grey, 1 round light grey *, repeat from *-* until finished measurements.
Dress and panties: red.
Body: * 1 round medium grey, 1 round light grey *, repeat from *-* until finished measurements.
Head: light beige.
Shoulder straps + hat: red.
Tassel: white.

SANTA LADY:
See explanation of colours above.
Work 2 legs, 2 arms and a dress.

LEG:
Work 4 ch and form a ring with 1 sl st in 1st ch.
Round 1: Work 6 dc in ch-ring. Finish with 1 sl st in first dc.
Round 2: 1 ch, * 1 dc, 2 dc in next st *. Repeat from *-* (= 9 dc on round). Finish with 1 sl st in first ch.
Round 3-21: 1 ch, 9 dc, finish with 1 sl st in first ch.
Round 22: 1 ch, 4 dc, 2 dc in next dc, 3 dc, 2 dc in next st (= 11 dc on round). Finish with 1 sl st in first ch.
Round 23: 1 ch, work 2 dc in every dc = 22 dc. Finish with 1 sl st in first ch. Cut the thread on one leg and fasten it. On the other leg leave the thread and use it to crochet the legs tog later. Fill with some cotton wool.

ARM:
Work rounds 1-21 as on leg, then on next round, dec 1 dc by skipping 1 st (= 8 dc on round). Cut and fasten the thread. Fill with some cotton wool.

PANTIES:
Work 3 ch (= 1 tr) with the thread from the leg.
Round 1: Work 1 round tr around one leg and then around the other leg and finish with 1 sl st in 3rd ch from beg of round = 44 tr.
Round 2: 3 ch (= 1 tr), 1 round tr while at the same time dec every 4th tr by working every 3rd and 4th tr tog - see explanation above = 33 tr on round. Finish with 1 sl st in 3rd ch from beg of round.
Round 3: 3 ch, 1 round tr while at the same time dec every 3rd tr by working every 2nd and 3rd tr tog = 22 tr. Finish with 1 sl st in 3rd ch from beg of round.

BODY:
Rounds start mid back.
Round 1: * 1 dc in first tr, 2 dc in next tr *, repeat from *-* the entire round = 33 dc.
Round 2-10: 1 ch, 1 dc in every st, finish with 1 sl st in first ch.
Round 11: 1 ch, skip 1 dc, work 1 dc, skip 1 dc, 1 dc in each of the next 11 dc, skip 1 dc, 1 dc in next st, skip 1 dc, 1 dc in next st, skip 1 dc, 1 dc in each of the next 11 dc, skip 1 dc, 1 dc in next st, skip 1 dc and fasten with 1 sl st in dc from beg of round = 26 dc.
Round 12: 1 ch, work 1 dc, skip 1 dc, 1 dc in each of the next 8 dc, skip 1 dc, 1 dc in next st, skip 1 dc, 1 dc in next st, skip 1 dc, 1 dc in each of the next 8 dc, skip 1 dc, 1 dc in next st, skip 1 dc and fasten with 1 sl st at beg of round = 20 dc.
Round 13: Now crochet the arms to the body as follows: 1 ch, 1 dc in each of the next 4 dc, fold the arm double up on the body, work 4 dc through both the arm and the body, then work 1 dc in each of the next 4 dc (= front), then crochet on the other arm the same way as the first, work 1 dc in each of the last 4 dc, finish with 1 sl st in 1st ch.
Round 14: 1 ch, 1 dc in every st, skip every 5th dc and finish with 1 sl st in ch from beg of round = 16 dc.
Round 15: 1 ch, 1 dc in every st, finish with 1 sl st in first ch.

HEAD:
Round 1: 1 ch, 16 dc on round, finish with
1 sl st in first ch.
Round 2: 1 ch, * 1 dc, 2 dc in next dc *, repeat from *-* the entire round = 24 dc, finish with 1 sl st in first ch.
Round 3: 1 ch, * 2 dc, 2 dc in next dc *, repeat from *-* the entire round = 32 dc, finish with 1 sl st in first ch.
Round 4-6: 1 ch, 1 dc in every st, finish with 1 sl st in first ch from beg of round.
Round 7: 1 ch, 1 dc in each of the next 15 sts, in next st work a nose (1 dc, 3 ch, 1 tr in the 1st of the 3 ch, 1 dc), 1 dc in every st the rest of round and 1 sl st in ch from beg of round.
Round 8: 1 ch, 1 dc in every st (NOTE! over the nose work only 1 dc between the 2 dc) and finish with 1 sl st in ch from beg of round.
Round 9: 1 ch, 1 dc in every dc while AT THE SAME TIME skipping every 4th dc = 24 dc and finish with 1 sl st in ch from beg of round.
Round 10: 1 ch, 1 dc in every dc and finish with 1 sl st in first ch from beg of round.

Cut and fasten the thread. Fill the Santa with some cotton wool.

HAT:
Work 26 ch and form a ring with 1 sl st in 1st ch.
Round 1: 1 ch, 1 dc in every ch and finish with 1 sl st in first ch from beg of round = 26 dc.
Round 2: 1 ch, 1 dc in each of the next 4 dc, skip 1 dc, * 1 dc in each of the next 3 dc, skip 1 dc *, repeat from *-* and finish with 1 dc and 1 sl st in ch from beg of round = 20 dc.
Round 3: 1 ch, 1 dc in every dc and finish with 1 sl st in first ch from beg of round.
Round 4: 1 ch, 1 dc in every dc while AT THE SAME TIME skipping 2 dc evenly and finish with 1 sl st in ch from beg of round = 18 dc.
Now work the head and hat tog by working through both the head and the hat.
Round 5-7: 1 ch, 1 dc in every dc and finish with 1 sl st in first ch from beg of round.
Round 8: 1 ch, 1 dc in every dc while AT THE SAME TIME skipping every 6th dc and finish with 1 sl st in ch from beg of round = 15 dc.
Round 9-11: 1 ch, 1 dc in every dc and finish with 1 sl st in first ch from beg of round.
Round 12: 1 ch, 1 dc in every dc while AT THE SAME TIME skipping every 5th dc and finish with 1 sl st in ch from beg of round = 12 dc.
Round 13 and 14: 1 ch, 1 dc in every dc and finish with 1 sl st in first ch from beg of round.
Round 15: 1 ch, 1 dc in every dc while AT THE SAME TIME skipping every 3rd dc and finish with 1 sl st in ch from beg of round = 8 dc.
Round 16 and 17: 1 ch, 1 dc in every dc and finish with 1 sl st in first ch from beg of round.
Round 18: 1 ch, 1 dc in every dc while AT THE SAME TIME skipping every other dc and finish with 1 sl st in ch from beg of round = 4 dc.
Round 19: 1 ch, 1 dc in every dc and finish with 1 sl st in first ch from beg of round. Cut the thread, this is used to fasten the tassel.

DRESS: Work 48 ch and form a ring with 1 sl st in 1st ch.
Round 1: 3 ch, skip 1 ch, then work 1 dc in every st. Finish with 1 sl st in 3rd ch from beg of round = 48 dc.
Round 2 and 3: 1 dc in every dc.
Round 4: 1 dc in every dc but work every 7th and 8th dc tog = 42 dc.
Round 5-7: 1 dc in every dc.
Round 8: 1 dc in every dc but work every 6th and 7th dc tog = 36 dc.
Round 9: 1 dc in every dc.
Round 10: 1 dc in every dc but work every 5th and 6th dc tog = 30 dc.
Round 11: 1 sl st in each of the first 11 dc, 3 ch, skip 1 dc, 1 dc in each of the next 8 dc, turn piece, 3 ch, 1 dc in each of the 8 dc. Continue back and forth until 5 rows with dc have been worked for flap. Cut the thread.

SHOULDER STRAPS:
Work 28 ch. Turn piece. Work 1 tr in the 4th ch from hook. Then work 1 tr in every ch. Cut and fasten the thread. Work another shoulder strap the same way.

ASSEMBLY:
Make a tassel with white with an approx. diameter of 2.5 cm. Fasten at the top of hat.
Use some black to make little eyes.
Use some red to make the mouth.
Fasten the shoulder straps at the back of dress. Cross the straps and place them over the shoulders towards the front and on top of flap. Sew on 1 button in each side through both the flap and the shoulder strap. Fasten the thread tightly.
Cut 18 threads white with a length of 40 cm. On each side of st mid back ties 9 threads like this: start at the top right under the hat, fold a thread, pull loop through a st and pull ends through loop and tighten. Tie a strand in each st all down to neck. Braid threads. Place braids along each side of head and sew a few sts to attach.

Hola Carmen! A ver si así te resulta más claro: Atar 9 hilos a cada lado del pt central en la parte posterior de la cabeza de esta manera: comenzar en la parte de arriba justo debajo del sombrero, doblar 1 hilo, pasar el bucle por 1 pt y pasar los extremos ahora por el bucle y estirar. Repetir en los pts de debajo hasta el cuello. Trabajar ahora una trenza a cada lado.

Beste mevr ik heb veel gehaakt met behulp van u pratonen en dat gaat uitstekend goede uitleg maar nu heb ik er een daar kom ik niet uit het gaat om het patroon van kerst vrouw van Nepal ik weet niet hoe en waar ik moet beginnen met het lijf er staat begin middenachter welk middenachter ik hoop dat u mij kan helpen bvd groetjes mary
