200 g colour no 31, light ice blue

DROPS CIRCULAR NEEDLE (60 cm) size 8 mm - or size needed to get 11 sts x 15 rows in stocking st = 10 x 10 cm.

PATTERN: See diagram M.1A (= 8 sts).
GARTER ST (in the round): K 1 round, P 1 round.

Worked in the round. Cast on 48-56 sts on circular needle size 7 mm with Eskimo. Work rib K2/P2 for 4 cm. P 1 round, AT THE SAME TIME inc 16 sts evenly (inc with YO) = 64-72 sts. Change to circular needle size 8 mm. P 1 round (P YO into back of loop to avoid a hole). On next round work M.1A on all sts – see above! REMEMBER THE KNITTING TENSION! After 3 vertical repeats of M.1A, P 1 round on all sts, AT THE SAME TIME dec 4 sts evenly for size S/M = 60-72 sts. Change back to circular needle size 7 mm. Insert 6 markers in piece, with 10-12 sts between each marker. Continue in GARTER ST – see above – AT THE SAME TIME dec 1 st each side of all markers (dec by K2 tog on a K round). Repeat the dec on every other round a total of 4-5 times = 12 sts left. Piece now measures approx 26-27 cm. Cut the thread, pull it through remaining sts and fasten.

See diagram M.1A (= 8 sts) and M.1B (= 10 sts).
GARTER ST (in the round): K 1 round, P 1 round.

Worked in the round. Cast on 90 sts on circular needle size 8 mm with Eskimo. Work 6 rounds garter st, then P 1 round. Continue in M.1B on all sts. REMEMBER THE KNITTING TENSION! After 1 vertical repeat of M.1B there are 72 sts on needle. Now work M.1A on all sts. When piece measures 28 cm (finish after 1 full repeat) work 6 rows garter st. Piece now measures approx 31 cm. Cast off.

= P from RS
= P2 tog
= P2 tog into back of loop
= Insert right needle between the 2 dec 2 rounds below, pull yarn through and make a long st and slip it on right needle(this long st becomes a new st on the nest row)

Bon tricot !

DROPS Design 31.12.2011 - 19:08:

The video is slightly different from the pattern. In the pattern you have 2 long stitches in a row. But in the video there are P2. To get the result shown in the picture you have to follow the chart.

Drops Design 27.12.2011 - 20:09:

Hi Mirja, have you tried watching the video linked from the pattern?

Mirja 27.12.2011 - 12:55:

Hi! Still a question about the long stitches of the pattern. How is it possible to do it? If I pull through the second time in a row, I end up with a double yo. Shouldn't there be a yo between the long stitches perhaps??
