Materials: DROPS MUSKAT SOFT from Garnstudio
800 g colour no 06, blue purple
And use: DROPS PARIS from Garnstudio
50 g colour no 29, light ice blue

DROPS CIRCULAR NEEDLE (80 cm) size 4.5 mm - or size needed to get 20 sts x 40 rows in garter st = 10 x 10 cm.
DROPS CROCHET HOOK size 4 mm – for crochet border

Pattern instructions

NOTE: This pattern is written in British English. All measurements in charts are in cm. For conversion from cm to inches - click here. BLANKET:
Worked back and forth on circular needle with Muskat Soft in garter st, i.e. K all rows. Beg at bottom corner. See Fig.1.

SQUARE 1:
Cast on 30 sts on circular needle size 4.5 mm. Work garter st back and forth on needle until piece measures approx 15 cm (last row worked from WS). Turn piece and leave sts on needle.

SQUARE 2:
Work 1 row from RS on sts from Square-1. Now cast on 30 new sts at the end of row. Work garter st back and forth on the new 30 sts, AT THE SAME TIME at the end of every row from WS work 1 st from Square-1 back on needle and at the beg of every row from RS K tog the first 2 sts. Continue until all sts from Square-1 are knitted = 30 sts on needle. Leave sts on needle. Cut the thread.

SQUARE 3:
Pick up 30 sts along the edge of Square-1 from RS. Work garter st back and forth on these sts for approx 15 cm (work last row from WS). Leave sts on needle.

SQUARE 4:
Cast on 30 new sts at the end of row.
Work garter st back and forth on the new 30 sts, AT THE SAME TIME at the end of every row from RS work 1 st from Square-3 back on needle and at the beg of every row from WS K tog the first 2 sts. Continue like this until all sts from Square-3 are knitted = 30 sts on needle (last row worked from WS). Turn piece and leave sts on needle.

SQUARE 5:
Work 1 row from RS on sts from Square-4. Now pick up 30 sts along the edge of Square-3. Work garter st back and forth on the new 30 sts, AT THE SAME TIME at the end of every row from RS work 1 st from Square-2 back on needle and at the beg of every row from WS K tog the first 2 sts. Continue until all sts from Square-2 are knitted = 30 sts on needle (last rows worked from WS). Turn piece and leave sts on needle.

SQUARE 6:
Work 1 row from RS on sts from Square-5.
Now pick up 30 sts along the edge of Square-2. Work garter st back and forth on the new 30 sts for approx 15 cm (last row worked from WS). Turn piece and leave sts on needle.

SQUARE 7:
Like Square-2.

SQUARE 8:
Pick up 30 sts along the edge of Square-6 from RS. Work garter st back and forth on the new 30 sts, AT THE SAME TIME at the end of every row from WS work 1 st from Square-5 back on needle and at the beg of every row from RS K tog the first 2 sts. Continue like this until all sts from Square-5 are knitted = 30 sts on needle (last row worked from RS). Leave sts on needle. Cut the thread.

SQUARE 9:
Like Square-8.

SQUARE 10:
Like Square-3.

SQUARE 11:
Like Square-4.

SQUARE 12, 13 and 14:
Like Square-5.

SQUARE 15:
Like Square-6.

SQUARE 16:
Like Square-2.

SQUARE 17, 18, 19 and 20:
Like Square-8.

SQUARE 21:
Pick up 30 sts along the edge of Square-11 from RS. Work garter st back and forth on these sts for approx 15 cm. Cast off from RS.

SQUARE 22:
Pick up 30 sts along the edge of Square-21. Work garter st back and forth on the new 30 sts, AT THE SAME TIME at the end of every row from RS work 1 st from Square-20 back on needle and at the beg of every row from WS K tog the first 2 sts. Continue like this until all sts from Square-20 are knitted = 30 sts on needle (last row worked from WS). Turn piece and leave sts on needle.

SQUARE 23, 24, 25 and 26:
Like Square-5.

SQUARE 27:
Like Square-6.

SQUARE 28:
Like Square-2.

SQUARE 29, 30, 31 and 32:
Like Square-8.

SQUARE 33:
Pick up 30 sts along the edge of Square-23 from RS. Work garter st back and forth on these sts, AT THE SAME TIME at the end of every row from WS work 1 st from Square-22 back on needle and at the beg of every row from RS K tog the first 2 sts. Continue like this until all sts from Square-22 are knitted = 30 sts on needle. Cast off from WS.

SQUARE 34:
Like Square-22.

SQUARE 35, 36 and 37:
Like Square-5.

SQUARE 38:
Work 1 row from RS on sts from Square-37. Now pick up 30 sts along the edge of Square-29. Work garter st back and forth on the new 30 sts, AT THE SAME TIME at the end of every row from RS work 1 st from Square-28 back on needle and at the beg of every row from WS K tog the first 2 sts. Continue until all sts from Square-28 are knitted = 30 sts on needle Cast off from RS.

SQUARE 39, 40 and 41:
Like Square-8.

SQUARE 42:
Like Square-33.

SQUARE 43:
Like Square-22.

SQUARE 44:
Like Square-5.

SQUARE 45:
Like Square-38.

SQUARE 46:
Like Square-8.

SQUARE 47:
Like Square-33.

SQUARE 48:
Like Square-22 and cast off all sts.

CROCHET BORDER:
Crochet a border round the whole blanket with Paris and crochet hook size 4 mm, beg in a corner: 1 dc, * 1 ch, skip approx 1 cm, 1 dc *, repeat from *-* but in each corner work 2 ch instead of 1 ch. Finish with 2 ch and 1 sl st in dc from beg of round.
