HEEL DECREASES: Work stocking st on heel sts, AT THE SAME TIME slip 1 st at the end of every row on a stitch holder.
Continue until there are 3-5-6 sts on stitch holders each side and 4-4-6 sts left on needle.
Insert a marker in piece. Continue in stocking st, AT THE SAME TIME work 1 st from stitch holder back on needle at the end of every row NOTE: to avoid a hole pick up 2 sts between sts on needle and sts on stitch holder. On next row work these 2 sts and st from stitch holder tog to 1. Continue like this until there are 10-14-18 sts on needle. Work 1 row stocking st on all sts.
--------------------------------------------------------
SOCK: Worked in the round on double pointed needles. Loosely cast on 20-24-28 sts on double pointed needles size 8 mm with Eskimo. Insert a marker at beg of round. K 1 round, P 1 round and continue in stocking st. REMEMBER THE KNITTING TENSION!
When piece measures 10-11-12 cm keep the first 10-14-18 sts on needle for heel and slip the last 10 sts on a stitch holder (= mid upper foot). Work HEEL DECREASES – see above. After heel decreases slip sts from stitch holder back on needle = 20-24-28 sts. Continue in the round in stocking st on all sts. When piece measures 19-20-22 cm from marker on heel (= approx 3-4-5 cm remain) insert a marker each side with 10-12-14 sts on upper foot and 10-12-14 sts under foot. Now dec for toes on each side of both markers as follows – beg 3 sts before marker: K2 tog, K2 (marker sits between these 2 sts) K2 tog into back of loop. Repeat the dec on every other round a total of 2-3-3 times and then on every round 1-1-2 times = 8 sts left. Cut the thread, pull through remaining sts and fasten.
