Gauge: 5 sts x 6 rows in stockinette st = 10 x 10 cm.

Knitting tips (for side, armhole and neck):
All decs are made on right side rows. Dec 1 st inside 2 edge sts in garter st at sides and 1 edge st in garter st at armhole and neck as follows:
After 2/1 edge sts: Slip 1 st as if to knit, K 1, psso. Before 2/1 edge sts: K 2 tog.

Measuring tips: Make all length measurements when the garment is held up. Otherwise, the garment will be too long when worn.

Front: Cast on 19-21-23-27-29 sts around 2 needles with Vienna (so that the cast-on edge will be elastic). Pull out one needle and knit stockinette st, keeping 2 edge sts in garter st at each side. When the piece measures 40 cm – read Measuring tips – dec 1 st at each side – see knitting tips above = 17-19-21-25-27 sts.
When the piece measures 60 cm inc 1 st at each side inside of the edge sts in garter st by pulling up a st from previous row and knit in stockinette st = 19-21-23-27-29 sts. When the piece measures 69-71-73-75-77 cm bind off the outermost 1 st at each side for armhole. Then dec 1 st for armhole at each side every other row 0-0-1-2-3 times – see knitting tips above.
When the piece measures 71-74-77-78-81 cm bind off the center st for the neck and put half the sts on a st holder.
1st side: Dec 1 st at neck edge every other row – see knitting tips above: 2-2-2-3-3 times = 6-7-7-7-7 sts remain on shoulder. Continue in stockinette st (with 1 st in garter st at armhole and neck edges) until piece measures 86-89-92-95-98 cm, bind off.
2nd side: Put sts from st holder back on needles and knit the same as 1st side. Begin the first row at the center front – start by picking up 1 st in the bound-off center st, then K that st together with the 1st st on the needles (this reinforces the V-neck).

Back: Cast on and knit the same as the front, but dec 1 st at each side when the piece measures 30 cm and inc 1 st at each side when the piece measures 50 cm. Bind off for armhole as on front and continue until the piece measures 84-87-90-93-96 cm.
Now P 1 row (right side row) over the center 7-7-7-9-9 sts (the remaining sts knit as before). On the next row bind off all sts, the piece measures approx. 86-89-92-95-98 cm.

Assembly: Sew the 6-7-7-7-7 shoulder-sts from each front to the outermost 6-7-7-7-7 sts at each side on back. Sew side seams, leaving 10 cm open to lower edge for side split. Be sure that seams are not too tight.
Crochet an edge around V-neck with Salsa as follows: 1 sc in first st, * ch 1, 1 sc in the next st *, repeat * - * and finish with ch 1 and 1 sl st in 1st sc at the beginning of row – see that the edge isn’t too tight.

Crocheted blossom: Ch 4 with Salsa and join into a ring with 1 sl st.
1st row: 6 sc in ring and finish with 1 sl st in first sc at the beginning of row.
2nd row: 2 sc in each sc around row, finish with 1 sl st in first sc at the beginning of row (= 12 sc).
3rd row: Change to Vienna and crochet as follows: * ch 4, 1 sc in the next st *, repeat * - * around row and finish with 1 sl st in first ch at the beginning of row (= 12 ch-loops).
4th row: Turn the work, 1 sc in last sc from previous row, * ch 5, 1 sc in the next sc from previous row *, repeat * - * around row and finish with 1 sl st in first sc at the beginning of row (= 12 ch-loops).
