Knitting tension: 17 sts x 22 rows in stocking sts = 10 x 10 cm. 1 repeat of the length of M.2 measures approx. 10 cm in the width and 7 cm in the length.

Garter sts: Knit back and forth on all rows.

Pattern: See diagram M .1 and M.2. The diagrams are shown from the RS and shows 1 repeat.

Dress: The dress is knitted round on circular needles beg. from the bottom and work upwards. Cast on 171-190-209-228-247 sts loosely on circular needles size 5 mm with Alaska.
Knit according to M.1, continue with M.2 until the work measures approx. 45-50-50-55-55 cm – adjust so you finish at the arrow in the diagram.
Change to circular needle size 4 mm
Knit the next row as follows: * K1, K2 tog., P2, K1 , K2 tog, P2, K2 , P2 , K1 , K2 tog., P2 *, repeat from *-* = 144-160-176-192-208 sts. Now continue in Rib = K2 / P2 for 20 cm. Cast off with K over K and P over P. The dress measures approx. 65-70-70-75-75 cm.
Shoulder straps: Cast on 14 sts on pointed needles size 4mm with Alaska. Knit as follows: 2 garter sts, K2, P2, K2, P2, K2 and 2 garter sts. Knit until the strap measures approx. 38-40-42-44-46 cm. Then cast off for 2 button holes as follows: 2 garter sts, K2 tog, make a yo, P2, K2, P2, make a yo, K2 twisted tog. ( i.e. knit into back part of sts instead of front part) and 2 garter sts. Then knit 2 rows with K over K and P over P and cast off. Make another strap.
Sew the straps tight to the back part of the dress approx. 30-33-36-40-43 cm apart. Sew on 2 buttons each side of the front of the dress to button up the straps.
