I do not understand the instructions in the pattern. What does it mean when it says to work rib K 1/ P 1 in the round? I know how to do rib stitch but what does it mean by "in the round"? Does this mean I have to knit on more than 2 needles? I appreciate anyone's help with my question and thank you kindly in advance!
24.11.2014 - 19:36DROPS Design answered:
Dear Mrs Lewis, you cast on sts on double pointed needles and join to work in the round - see below how to cast on sts on double pointed needle and work st st - remember you will then have to work ribbing K1/P1 and not st st as in the video. Happy knitting!

So after I've placed 27 stitches on a holder and made 2 more, how do I continue ribbing like before without messing it up? The video skips that part.
30.10.2014 - 01:18DROPS Design answered:
Dear Katie, when the 27 sts are on a st holder, you continue ribbing back and forth on the first 9-11 sts inc 1 st each side on first row (= 11-13 sts) for 7-8.5 cm. Happy knitting!

If I Kfb in the first and last stitch to get 13 stitches how do I get back on track for the ribbing on the next row? Don't tell me to look at the video because it goes much to fast to follow plus I am not a continental knitter
28.10.2014 - 22:07DROPS Design answered:
Dear Debbie, after you have inc 1 st each side you continue working back and forth (= in rows) over the 13 sts for middle upper foot until piece measure 8.5-10 cm (turn at the end of each row over the 13 sts and work alternately from RS and from WS). Happy knitting!

When you say to cast off a stitch at edge are you actually casting off or just knitting 2 tog. To get back to your 11 stitches? Also could I use drops Andes with 1 strand instead of drops nepal with 2 strands?
27.10.2014 - 14:12DROPS Design answered:
Dear Debbie, that's correct, you work 2 sts tog to get back the 11 sts. You can use 1 strand Andes (group E) instead 2 strands Nepal (group C) - read more here. Remember to check your tension. Happy knnitting!

Difficult to understand Moon Socks Patter. Now measure piece for here? From where? Where do you place markers?
27.10.2014 - 11:02DROPS Design answered:
Dear Mrs Evans, you measure piece for foot after you have all 60-66-72 sts on needle. Markers are placed : 1 on mid front of toe (in the middle of sts worked back and forth for upper foot), and the 2nd one on mid heel - see also video below. Happy knitting!

Could someone explain where to put the st markers for the toe and heel a little better. Am sort of new to making slippers and boots. Not sure where or how many needles to use. Thank you

Dear Mrs Moores, please have a look on the video below, it should help you to visualize how to knit the slippers (and placing markers...). Happy knitting!

GARTER ST (back and forth on needle): K all rows. -------------------------------------------------------- SLIPPERS: LEG: Cast on 36-38-40 sts on double pointed needles size 6 mm with 1 thread medium grey or colour no 3720 medium pink and 1 thread grey mix. Work rib K 1/P 1 in the round until piece measures approx. 10 cm. FOOT: Now keep the first 9-11-11 sts on the round on the needle, slip the remaining 27-27-29 sts on a stitch holder. Insert 1 marker mid front of toe and 1 marker mid back on heel. Continue in the round with rib as before for 2 cm. Now finish the piece in stocking st - AT THE SAME TIME K 2 sts tog on each side of every marker on every other round (= 4 sts less per round) continue dec until stocking st section measures 3-3-4 cm – cast off.
