Why is there no sound on your videos? It would be so more helpfull,
06.12.2014 - 23:39DROPS Design answered:
Dear Isabella, we are a worldwide company and our videos are watched by people around the world, speaking different languages, many of whom do not understand English. We have therefore written instructions to accompany this video, and there is no sound to disturb while watching. Following the written pattern at the same time as watching the video will help you to understand how to do. Happy knitting!

Can you use 3 pointed needles instead of 4?
06.12.2014 - 20:05DROPS Design answered:
Dear Ashley, you can work in the round either with a total of 5 double pointed needles or only 4, ie with 5 dpn, you distribute all sts onto 4 dpn and work with the 5th one, with only 4 dpn, you distribute all sts onto 3 dpn and work with the 4th one - take care that you will have enough room for all sts. Happy knitting!

These socks look great, but the only problem is they seem too short even when I knit the largest size. The seam on the bottom starts about halfway down my heel. They would be more comfortable if the seam went all the way to the back of my heel. Is there a way to add more stitches to this pattern so that the seam falls closer to the back of the heel? Thanks!
05.12.2014 - 22:15DROPS Design answered:
Dear Mrs Dugger, the dec at mid toe and mid back will shape the sole of the slipper - seam will then not take the whole length of under foot - see also video. Happy knitting!

After picking up the stitches on the sides of the foot, the pattern says to place marker at the center of the toe and the center of the heel. I have 11 stitches on the heel and 27 stitches on the toe. So how, do I put a marker in the center of an uneven number of stitches?
04.12.2014 - 00:03DROPS Design answered:
Dear Mrs Hoffman, after you have picked up sts each side of mid upper foot, you should have 60-66-72 sts, markers should be evenly placed 30-33-36 sts apart, one on mid toe and the other one on mid heel. Happy knitting!

My daughter's foot length is 24.4 cm. Should I make the middle size (24 cm) or the large size (26 cm) of slipper?
01.12.2014 - 08:28DROPS Design answered:
Dear Mrs Ullstrom, you can probably work 2nd size. Happy knitting!

Evelyn, knit front and back of the first stitch (of the 9 still left on needles) and knit the front and back of the last stitch of the 9 left on the needle. Now you will have 11 stitches.

Hello I am confused about the moon sock pattern. I have just finished the ribbing for the leg and have taken off 27 stitches onto a stitch holder. The part I am confused about is the upper part of the foot where it says to cast on 1 new st in each side (edge st)? What does that mean? Please help! Thank you in advance!
25.11.2014 - 16:24DROPS Design answered:
Dear Mrs Lewis, you keep the middle 9-11 sts for upper foot and when upper foot is done, you will pick up sts along each side of the upper foot inside 1 edge st, on first row over these sts, cast on 1 st each side (or Kfb first and last st) to get 1 edge st each side = 11-13 sts, you will then work dec 1 st each side when measurement is reached. Happy knitting!

GARTER ST (back and forth on needle): K all rows. -------------------------------------------------------- SLIPPERS: LEG: Cast on 36-38-40 sts on double pointed needles size 6 mm with 1 thread medium grey or colour no 3720 medium pink and 1 thread grey mix. Work rib K 1/P 1 in the round until piece measures approx. 10 cm. FOOT: Now keep the first 9-11-11 sts on the round on the needle, slip the remaining 27-27-29 sts on a stitch holder. Continue with rib back and forth over the 9-11-11 sts - AT THE SAME TIME on 1st row cast on 1 new st in each side (edge st) = 11-13-13 sts. When 7-8.5-10 cm have been worked, cast off 1 edge st in each side = 9-11-11 sts. Then slip the sts from stitch holder back on needle and knit up 12-14-16 sts on each side of middle part (inside 1 edge st) = 60-66-72 sts on needle. Now measure piece from here. Insert 1 marker mid front of toe and 1 marker mid back on heel. Continue in the round with rib as before for 2 cm. Now finish the piece in stocking st - AT THE SAME TIME K 2 sts tog on each side of every marker on every other round (= 4 sts less per round) continue dec until stocking st section measures 3-3-4 cm – cast off. Sew tog seam mid under foot in outermost st to avoid a chunky seam. LOOSE CUFF WORKED ACROSS: Cast on 15-17-17 sts on needle size 6 mm with 1 thread medium grey and 1 thread grey mix. Work as follows: 1 st in GARTER ST - see explanation above, * K 1, P 1 *, repeat from *-*, finish with K 1 and 1 st in garter st. When piece measures 2 cm, cast off for 2 button holes as follows from RS: 1 st in garter st, K 1, P 1, slip 1 st as if to K, K 1, psso, 1 YO, * K 1, P 1 *, repeat from *-* until 5 sts remain, 1 YO, K 2 tog, P 1, K 1, 1 st in garter st. Continue with rib and in garter st in each side until piece measures approx. 36-37-38 cm. Cast off sts with K over K and P over P. Sew buttons on to cuff and button cuff tog. Slide cuff 2 cm down on foot with buttons on the outside of slipper and sew cuff to cast on edge on slipper from WS with invisible stitches. |
