Clue #10 - 2nd edge = 4 crocheted rounds around our flowers

DROPS-Along The Meadow

We have reached clue #10 in our DROPS Mystery Blanket CAL and we are making progress with our edges!

This 2nd edge clue consists of 4 rounds with different colours and techniques, to start building a beautiful edge to match all our lovely flower squares!

2nd edge - trebles:

ROUND 1: Switch to light turquoise (no. 19) - READ COLOUR CHANGE and work 3 ch (= 1st tr).

COLOUR CHANGE:

When changing colour work as follows: Before last pull through of last loop on hook, switch colour, pull the last loop on hook through with the new colour.

Work 1 tr in every dc, 1 tr around every ch and 1 tr around ch-spaces in the side the entire round, BUT work 2 tr in one ch-space on every short side (= inc 1 tr on every short side).

Work as follows in the ch-space in the corners: 2 tr, 3 ch, 2 tr.

Complete description of ROUND 1:

ROUND 1: Switch to light turquoise (no. 19) and work 3 ch (= 1st tr). Work 1 tr in every dc, 1 tr around every ch and 1 tr around ch-spaces in the side the entire round, BUT work 2 tr in one ch-space on every short side (= inc 1 tr on every short side), work as follows in the ch-space in the corners: 2 tr, 3 ch, 2 tr. Finish round with 1 sl st in 3rd ch from beg of round = 516 tr, 4 3-ch-space in the corners. READ COLOUR CHANGE! Do not cut the yarn. Fasten off opal green (no. 17), from last round in 1th edge.

ROUND 2: Flower buds.

1st long side:
Switch to pink (no. 15) and work 2 ch, * 1 dc in next tr, 1 ch, skip 1 tr, 1 FLOWER BUD (= see explanation under) in next tr, 1 ch, skip 1 tr, *, repeat from *-*.

1 FLOWER BUD:

Work 3 tr tog in the same st as follows: Work 1 tr but wait with last pull through (= 2 sts on hook), then work 2 tr more in same st but wait with last pull through (= 4 loops on hook) and pull yarn through all 4 loops on hook.

In the corners:
Work as follows in ch-space: 1 dc, 3 ch, 1 dc.

Complete description of ROUND 2:

ROUND 2: Flower buds.
1st long side:
Switch to pink (no. 15) and work 2 ch, * 1 dc in next tr, 1 ch, skip 1 tr, 1 flower bud (= see explanation above) in next tr, 1 ch, skip 1 tr, *, repeat from *-* 38 times in total. Finish with one dc in last dc.

1st corner:
Work as follows in ch-space: 1 dc, 3 ch, 1 dc.

1st short side:
Work * 1 dc in next tr, 1 ch, skip 1 tr, 1 flower bud in next tr, 1 ch, skip 1 tr, *, repeat from *-* 25 times in total. Finish with one dc in last dc.

2nd corner:
Same as 1st corner.

2nd long side:
Work * 1 dc in next tr, 1 ch, skip 1 tr, 1 flower bud in next tr, 1 ch, skip 1 tr *, repeat from *-* 39 times in total. Finish with one dc in last dc.

3rd corner:
Same as 1st corner.

2nd short side:
Work * 1 dc in next tr, 1 ch, skip 1 tr, 1 flower bud in next tr, 1 ch, skip 1 tr *, repeat from *-* 25 times in total. Finish with one dc in last dc.

4th corner + finish:
Work as follows in ch-space: 1 dc, 3 ch, 1 dc. Work 1 dc in next dc (= on 1st long side), 1 ch, skip 1 tr, 1 flower bud in next tr and finish with 1 sl st in 2nd ch at beg of round = 140 dc, 128 flower bud and 268 ch. READ COLOUR CHANGE!

ROUND 3: - trebles:

Work as follows in the ch-space in the corners: 2 tr, 3 ch, 2 tr.

Complete description of ROUND 3:

ROUND 3: - trebles:

Switch to light turquoise (no. 19) and work 3 ch (= 1st tr). Work 1 tr in every dc, 1 tr around every ch and 1 tr at the top of flower bud the entire round, work as follows in the ch-space in the corners: 2 tr, 3 ch, 2 tr. Finish round with 1 sl st in 3rd ch from beg of round. = 540 tr, 12 ch READ COLOUR CHANGE!

ROUND 4 - dc and ch:
Switch to opal green (no. 17) and work 1 ch (= 1st dc), * 1 ch, skip 1 tr, 1 dc in next tr *, repeat from *-* the entire round. Read CROCHET TIP-1.

CROCHET TIP-1: Do not crochet too tight on rounds with 1 dc + 1 ch.

Work as follows in 1st corner: 1 dc, 3 ch, 1 dc.

Complete description of ROUND 4:

ROUND 4 - dc and ch:
Switch to opal green (no. 17) and work 1 ch (= 1st dc), * 1 ch, skip 1 tr, 1 dc in next tr *, repeat from *-* the entire round. Read CROCHET TIP-1.

Work as follows in the ch-space in the corners: 1 dc, 3 ch, 1 dc, and 1 dc in next tr.

Finish after last corner:* 1 dc in next tr, 1 ch, skip 1 tr *, repeat from *-* 2 more times and finish with 1 sl st in 1st st on round = 280 dc, 276 ch. Do not cut the opal green thread (no. 17), but cut and fasten off the other threads.

IMPORTANT: The pictures and the video show an example where we crochet the edge around 1 single square. You need to crochet this 2nd edge around the whole blanket (40 squares).

Jeg klipper tråden i hver omgang, og starter derfor lidt anderledes. Er det rigtigt tydet i diagrammet, at første stgm (de tre lm), starter i den første fm efter hjørnet?

Bonjour Mme Soulié, ajustez sur le nombre de boutons de fleurs que vous aurez au tour 2 - vous pouvez vous baser sur les diagrammes pour calculer comment procéder sur votre couverture. Bon crochet!
