How to knit the beginning of the socks in DROPS 168-24

In this DROPS video we show how to knit the beginning of the Dancing Zoe socks with stripes and wave pattern in DROPS 168-24. In the video we have less stitches than written in the pattern.

These socks are made in DROPS Fabel, but in the video we knit with a thicker yarn, DROPS Snow.

You must read the pattern and look at the chart to be able to follow. You’ll find the pattern by clicking on the pictures below.

The pattern calls for double pointed needles, the video is using circular needles for this pattern. I am just starting out with socks and not very good at dpn's and was wondering if circular needles might be used successfully? Thank you.

In this DROPS video, we show you how to knit a sock with a gusset heel - arguably the most common method for working a heel. To begin, the stitches on top of the foot are placed on a thread, while the stitches at the back are kept on the needles and the heel is worked as follows: 1) The heel is first worked in height, back and forth across the heel-stitches. 2) Next, the bottom of the heel is worked to the required width and length by working short rows and decreasing stitches. 3) Once this step is completed, continue knitting in the round across all stitches, knitting up stitches on both sides of the heel (along the length). 4) The width and shape of the foot is worked by decreasing stitches on both sides, forming a small gusset heel – that is why this type of heel is known as a gusset heel.

In this DROPS video we show how to work the “Carrot Squash” slippers in DROPS 203-37. We have already cast on stitches for size 35/37 and start the video by showing round 1 (only Knit). Then the rib, K1, P1. After the rib put 31 stitches on a stitch holder, work the other stitches back and forth. Then work these stitches, the new pickup stitches along the sides and the stitches from the stitch holder, and work around again. Decrease stitches and work around to finish measurement, cast off and fold the slipper and sew under foot in the outermost loop of the outermost stitch. These slippers are worked in DROPS Snow, the same yarn we use in the video. You must read the pattern to be able to follow this video properly.
