In this DROPS video we show how to bind off with an I-cord.

Finish your work with a nice looking, elastic, rounded edge. Perfect for afghans, top down hats, toe up socks etc.
Make 2 new sts at beg of row (in video we are using cable cast on), then: * K2, K2 tog in back loops, move three sts on right needle back to left needle* - repeat *-*.

In this DROPS video we show how we cast off with an i-cord edge in a piece worked in garter stitches / ridge stitches. Cast on 2 stitches, knit up 1 stitch in the outermost loop of the bottom ridge = 3 stitches on the needle. *Push the stitches back to the beginning of the needle and work again from the right side without turning. Knit 2, slip the next stitch as if to knit, knit up a new stitch in the next ridge on the hood, pass the slipped stitch over the knitted-up stitch *, work from *-* until an edge has been worked. Knit up 1 stitch in each ridge, if this makes the edge tight, knit up 1 more stitch evenly (we have knitted 2 extra stitches in this piece). Knit together the last 3 stitches on the row. When casting off, * work an i-cord of approx. 6 cm (see explanation for i-cord below), knit the stitches from the i-cord along with the next 3 stitches on the swap *, repeat * - * entire row, cast off the 3 last stitches as a usually cast off. In this DROPS video we show how we work an I-cord edge while we're casting off. Cast on 4 new stiches on right needle from WS, turn piece. Use another knitting needle if you wish. * Knit 3 stitches, the next 2 stitches are knitted twisted together. Put these 4 stitches back to the left needle *. Repeat from *-* the entire round and cast off. Sew together cast on and cast off edge. We use the yarn DROPS Snow in the video.

In this DROPS video we show how to cast off with i-cord casting off that is for example, used in the shawl in DROPS 190-15. Work and cast off as follows: * Knit 2 stitches, the next 2 stitches are knitted twisted together. Push the 3 stitches from the right needle back onto the left needle (in the same order) *, repeat from *-* until all stitches on the left needle have been cast off and there are 3 stitches left on the right needle. Push the stitches onto the left needle and cast them off with knit. This shawl is crocheted in DROPS Flora, but in the video we work with a thicker yarn; DROPS Snow.
