How to knit A.1 and A.2 in DROPS 0-1095

In this DROPS video we show how to knit charts A.1 and A.2 for the Takes Two socks in DROPS 0-1095. In this video we only show how to knit the right side. We knit 1 garter st in each side and have already knitted the chart 2 times in height so that you can see the pattern better.

These socks are made in DROPS Fabel, but in the video we knit with a thicker yarn; DROPS Snow.

You must read the pattern and look at the charts to be able to follow. You’ll find the pattern by clicking on the picture below.

I'm starting the Takes Two socks & have a question about starting the pattern. The video shows a K stitch before the 1st A.1 stitch but the written instructions & diagrams don't show or mention that knit stitch. It just says "work as follows: A.1 A (= 2 sts)" which would be the yo k2 tog.

DROPS Design :

Dear Mrs Johnson, in the video we are working the diagrams back and forth starting with K1, but in the socks you will work in the round starting with A.1 (= 2 sts) so skip the first st worked in the video and start with A.1 as shown. Happy knitting!

In this DROPS video, we show you how to knit a sock with a gusset heel - arguably the most common method for working a heel. To begin, the stitches on top of the foot are placed on a thread, while the stitches at the back are kept on the needles and the heel is worked as follows: 1) The heel is first worked in height, back and forth across the heel-stitches. 2) Next, the bottom of the heel is worked to the required width and length by working short rows and decreasing stitches. 3) Once this step is completed, continue knitting in the round across all stitches, knitting up stitches on both sides of the heel (along the length). 4) The width and shape of the foot is worked by decreasing stitches on both sides, forming a small gusset heel – that is why this type of heel is known as a gusset heel.

In this DROPS video we show how to work the “Carrot Squash” slippers in DROPS 203-37. We have already cast on stitches for size 35/37 and start the video by showing round 1 (only Knit). Then the rib, K1, P1. After the rib put 31 stitches on a stitch holder, work the other stitches back and forth. Then work these stitches, the new pickup stitches along the sides and the stitches from the stitch holder, and work around again. Decrease stitches and work around to finish measurement, cast off and fold the slipper and sew under foot in the outermost loop of the outermost stitch.
