How to knit the cover for a lantern in DROPS Extra 0-1003

In this DROPS video we show how to knit the cover for a lantern in DROPS Extra 0-1003.

We have already cast on 32 sts (small band) and knitted 1 ridge in GARTER ST, we start the video at ROW 1 – RIGHT LACE EDGE. We have also put two markers to distinguish RIGHT LACE EDGE, chart A.1 and LEFT LACE EDGE.

This cover is made in DROPS Cotton Viscose and DROPS Glitter, in the video we knit with DROPS Snow.

You must read the pattern and look at the chart to be able to follow. You’ll find the pattern by clicking on the picture below.

DROPS Design :

Dear Mrs Humphries, you will repeat the 4 rows for lace edge at the beg and at the end of row, and at the same time work A.1 in height. i.e. on 5th row, start A.1 again from row 1 and continue A.1 as before, ie as shown in video. Happy knitting!

In this DROPS video we show how to work the head together to the bookmark “Library Mouse“ in DROPS Extra 0-1576. Fill the head with wadding. Knit the first 6 stitches, then divide the stitches between 2 needles, with 12 stitches both on top and underneath the head. Knit 1 stitch from the top together with 1 stitch from underneath the head until all the stitches are knitted together = 12 stitches. Then knit up 1 stitch underneath each of these 12 stitches = 24 stitches. Cut the strand. Change colour and divide the 24 stitches on 4 needles and continue working after the description. In this DROPS video we show how to work the ear to the bookmark “Library Mouse“ in DROPS Extra 0-1576. Work like this: * Knit 1, 1 yarn over *, work from *-* in the same stitch until you have 15 stitches for the ear. Work short rows back and forth over these stitches as follows: Turn, purl from the wrong side until there is 1 stitch left, turn, tighten the strand, knit from the right side until there is 1 stitch left, turn, tighten the strand, purl from the wrong side until there are 2 stitches left turn, tighten the strand, knit from the right side until there are 2 stitches left, turn. Continue like this back and forth until there are 5 stitches left on each side, turn, purl to the end of the row from the wrong side, turn cast off with knit from the right side, using a double strand and, to avoid the cast-off edge being tight, make 1 yarn over after every 2nd stitch at the same time as you cast off (yarn overs cast off as normal stitches) = 1 stitch left. Continue as described in the text. This bookmark is worked in DROPS Alpaca, but in the video, we work with a thicker yarn; DROPS Snow.
