How to knit stripes in the round with no jog

In this DROPS video we show how to knit stripes in the round without getting a jog in the transition.

Change to a new color and work 1 round. Work the first stitch on the next round like this: Pick up the stitch under the first stitch on the left needle (pick up from behind in the front loop), and put it into the left needle. Knit the stitch together with the next stitch on the left needle. In this way, the transition becomes less visible.


You can carry to other color along on the inside of the work. If the stripes are wide, you can twist the colors at the end of round on every 3 cm/ every 1 inch.

And FINALLY I find a video that really shows how to do it, without fingers getting in the way etc. THANK YOU! This hat was driving me crazy, but finally it looks good! :D

In this DROPS video we show how to create an invisible join when starting your circular knitting and in this way avoid a jog in your work. Note! Cast on 1 additional stitch than what pattern tells you. Join, making sure not to twist stitches on row. Slip 1st stitch on left needle purl-wise over to right needle. Slip the 2nd stitch on right needle over the 1st. Move the slipped stitch back to left needle. Tighten yarn ends. Place a marker to mark beginning of the round and start knitting. The stitches on top of the foot are placed on a thread, while the stitches at the back are kept on the needles and the heel is worked as follows (the heel extends under the foot): 1) The heel is worked back and forth across the heel-stitches to achieve the correct height. For this type of heel, the length reaches midway under the heel. 2) Next, the heel is knitted together beneath the foot. 3) The sock is then continued in the round, with stitches picked up along both sides of the heel length, working towards the toe. 4) This heel creates a square shape, which is why this type of heel is known as a square heel.
