How to knit stripes in the round with no jog

In this DROPS video we show how to knit stripes in the round without getting a jog in the transition.

Change to a new color and work 1 round. Work the first stitch on the next round like this: Pick up the stitch under the first stitch on the left needle (pick up from behind in the front loop), and put it into the left needle. Knit the stitch together with the next stitch on the left needle. In this way, the transition becomes less visible.


You can carry to other color along on the inside of the work. If the stripes are wide, you can twist the colors at the end of round on every 3 cm/ every 1 inch.

Hola Margari. Los videos de Drops no tienen voz para que se puede usar el mismo video en todos los idiomas a los que se han traducido los patrones. Siempre hay un texto explicativo al lado del video en cada idioma.

Bonjour Mélanie, cette technique s'applique moins facilement sur du point mousse. Quand vous tricotez votre rang suivant à l'end, serrez légèrement le fil pour éviter un trop grand décalage. Bon tricot!

Lieber Tom, wenn Sie jede Reihe ein Farbeweschel haben, können Sie wie im Video machen. Bei Krausrippe (Wechsel zwischen li. und re. Maschen), kann man nicht so machen. Die Rd wechsel wird sich ein bischen sehen.

The stitches on top of the foot are placed on a thread, while the stitches at the back are kept on the needles and the heel is worked as follows (the heel extends under the foot): 1) The heel is worked back and forth across the heel-stitches to achieve the correct height. For this type of heel, the length reaches midway under the heel. 2) Next, the heel is knitted together beneath the foot. 3) The sock is then continued in the round, with stitches picked up along both sides of the heel length, working towards the toe. 4) This heel creates a square shape, which is why this type of heel is known as a square heel.
