How to work the mosaic pattern to the hat in DROPS 197-19

Keywords: chart, colourwork, hat, texture,

In this DROPS video we show how to work some of the rows after the diagrams in the «Hint of Heather» hat in DROPS 197-19. We have already worked the rib and up to row 11. In the video we show row 11-17. Every row in diagram equals 2 rows. I.e. from right side work diagram from right to left and from wrong side work same row from left to right.

NB! It is important to follow the diagrams. Work the entire colour pattern in garter stitch but do not work pattern in regular garter stitch stitches.

This hat is worked in DROPS Nord but in the video we work with a thicker yarn; DROPS Snow.
You must read the pattern and look at the diagrams to be able to follow this video properly. You’ll find the pattern by clicking on the picture below.

So where does this notification on 10th round come from? I understand this is slip and then slip knit tog, and passo, but is this what is carried from the last stitch in that round. I'm confused. I've taken two rounds out twice trying to get this. My hat looks great until I get to this point. Please help.

Dear Bonnie, work that decrease round as explained previously, starting the decrease round 1 stitch before and slip 1 st (last stitch previous round/repeat), K2 tog (first 2 sts first repeat on the round/next repeat), and psso (= this st is the new first st of the repeat). Happy knitting!

Dear Bonnie, when working this pattern start decreasing on 10th round in A.2 as follows: work 9th round until 1 stitch remain before the end of the round, then slip 1 (= the last st previous round), K2 tog (first 2 sts), psso. And continue like this. The decrease round starts with the last stitch on previous round/repeat. Happy knitting!
