How to crochet the kiwi coaster in DROPS Extra 0-1385

Keywords: kitchen,

In this DROPS video we show you how to crochet the kiwi coaster in DROPS Extra 0-1385. (For the watermelon and lemon use the same chart, just different colors and different embroider of the stitches.)

This coaster is crocheted in DROPS Paris, but in the video we use DROPS Snow.

You must read the pattern and look at the chart to be able to follow this video properly. You’ll find the pattern by clicking on the picture below.

The video above can be used in the following patterns

I have followed this pattern using the same yarn and a UK hook size 4mm but my coaster measures 13cm across and looks too big. I thought about using a smaller hook but its already quite difficult using a 4mm on a yarn that recommends a 5mm! I am also quite a tight crocheter! Any help would really be appreciated please. Thank you

Dear Emma, it seems to be an issue with the gauge; the stitches have been worked too loosely and the work is bigger than the one in the pattern. You could replace the rows with half-treble/ half-double crochets in the last row of A.1 and work double crochets/ single crochets, so that the work is slightly smaller. Happy crochetting!
