In this DROPS video we show you how to increase for raglan on a top down knitted piece using markers and yo’s. We show in total 4 rows of increases. The first two times we increase 2 sts on front and back piece and 4 sts on each sleeve. The last two times we increase 2 sts on the front-, back piece and each sleeve. Please note that we fast forward in fourth and last increase to save time. At the end we show how to place the sleeve sts on a separate needle, casting on sts under each sleeve and placing new marker so you can work further on body.

As we work with a less number of sts than in a pattern, you must read the specific pattern to be able to follow the video properly. You’ll find patterns with this type of increases by clicking one of the pictures below.

Bonjour. Je commence le modèle 0-1311 Stonehenge cardigan. Je tricote en aller retour. Pour le raglan il faut augmenter tous les rangs sur l'endroit mais cela n'est possible que si on tricote le pull en rond. Pour le cardigan en aller retour on est obligé d'augmenter à l'endroit et à l'envers si l'on doit augmenter sur tous les rangs. N'y a-t-il pas une erreur entre les 2 façons de faire ? Je fais comment en aller retour ? Merci de bien vouloir me dire comment faire.

Bonjour Mme Vandamme-Duhayon, le modèle 0-1311 est un gilet, que vous allez tricoter en allers et retours, donc alternativement sur l'endroit et sur l'envers, et vous augmentez pour le raglan d'abord tous les rangs sur l'endroit (= tous les 2 rangs) puis tous les 2 rangs sur l'endroit (= tous les 4 rangs). Dag Muriel,

Elk van de 4 markeerdraden geven de overgang van een pand naar de mouw aan of van een mouw naar een pand. Het eerste stukje op de naald is het voorpand, dan komt de mouw, dan het achterpand, dan de andere mouw, dan het andere voorpand.

Als je de eerste meerderingen hebt uitgevoerd , dan is het zeer moeilijk om de tussenstand terug op te nemen. Kan ik bij dit patroon ook de meerdering met omslag toepassen? Eerlijk gezegd begrijp ik vraag niet goed, want er worden toch alleen meerderingen gemaakt door omslagen te maken? Alleen worden sommige omslagen gedraaid gebreid door op de volgende naald in de achterkant van de omslag te steken, om te voorkomen dat er een gaatje ontstaat.

Witaj Kasiu, chodzi ci pewnie o oczka przekręcone przerabiane w miejscu narzutu poprzedniego okrążenia. Przerabiając narzut w ten sposób nie będzie widać dziurki, a chodzi tutaj o to aby było po jednej dziurce z każdej strony reglanu. Na rękawach w 1-szym okrążeniu dodawałaś z każdej strony rękawa 2 oczka (2 narzuty) więc miałabyś dwie widoczne dziurki i nie byłoby to po prostu symetryczne. Pozdrawiamy!

In principe maak je de raglanmeerdering zoals aangegeven in het patroon en dat is meestal met een omslag die je op de volgende naald gedraaid breit. Natuurlijk ben je vrij om de manier van meerderen naar eigen smaak aan te passen, als het aantal meerderingen maar klopt.

Dear Mrs Moher, you will find here another video showing how to work a jumper top down with raglan sleeves, a jacket can be worked the same way, but then just in rows instead of in the round. Please refer to your pattern to know where you have to increase exactly; in this video we have 4 sts for the raglan line and increase on either side of these 4 sts. In this DROPS video we show how we increase to raglan and at the same time work short rows. Put 4 markers as explained in the in the pattern you are knitting after and cut the thread. Now you start working front left of neck when garment is worn. Start from the right side, 2 stitches before marker-stitch-3 and work after pattern (stocking stitch / after charts) and increase to raglan before and after the 4 markers until you have worked to 2 stitches past marker-stitch-2 (8 stitches increased for raglan). Turn, tighten the strand and work back from the wrong side to 2 stitches past where the short rows began by marker-3. Continue with short rows as it says in the pattern and when the short rows are finish, cut the thread and now it starts mid-back again. Work the yarn overs / the increases as it says in the pattern, and remember that the yarn overs / increases are worked differently, before/after the marker and from the right side/from wrong side We use the yarn DROPS Snow in the video. In this DROPS video, we show how to increase with yarn over from the right side, both before a mark and after a mark, and how to work the increases from the wrong side. To get the yarn over to face neatly towards each other from the wrong side, work like this before the marker: Work in the back loop of the yarn over (no hole). After the marker work like this: Slip the yarn over off the left needle, then replace it the other way round (insert the left needle from the back when replacing it). In this DROPS video we show how to work yarn over differently so that they are towards the right or towards the left, as it is done in the hat in DROPS 234-12. We show 1 round where we knit the yarn over and 2 rounds where we purl the yarn over. Work the yarn over like this: AFTER MARKER: Work yarn over in back loop of stitches, stitch is twisted towards the left. It should not make a hole! BEFORE MARKER: Slip yarn over off the needle and put it back the opposite way, and then work in front loop of stitch, stitches is twisted towards the right. It should not make a hole! In this DROPS video we show how to put 4 markers in a piece, how to increase to raglan at these markers while working short rows. We cut the thread and start the short rows at the 3rd mark, but when the short rows are finished, we cut the thread and start in the middle of the back again. We have already worked a double neckline and in the video, l we show how we work a round where we put 4 markers and increase to raglan on each side of these markers. On next round we work the increases stitches twisted so that there are no holes. Then we work short rows, we also increase to raglan on every row and when the short rows are finished, we only increase to raglan on every other round. We use the yarn DROPS Nepal in the video. In this DROPS video we show how to increase 2 stitches by each raglan-line and how to work these increases stitches on the next round. You can use the same technique when making other items, for example hats or skirts. Work like this: Increase 2 stitches by each raglan-line as follows: Work to the raglan-line, make 1 yarn over, knit 1 (= raglan-line), 1 yarn over. Increase like this at each raglan-line (= 8 stitches increased). On the next round work the yarn overs as follows: BEFORE RAGLAN-LINE: Slip the yarn over onto the right needle as if to knit, place it back onto the left needle (it is now twisted) and knit in the front loop (yarn over twists to the right).
