BODY:
Worked back and forth on circular needle.
Cast on 171-187-203-227-251-279 sts (includes 5 band sts in each side towards mid front) on circular needle size 3 mm / US 2.5 with denim blue. Work 2 ridges in GARTER ST back and forth - see explanation above! Switch to circular needle size 4 mm / US 6 and work 2 rows in stockinette st with 5 band sts in garter st in each side towards mid front. Remember BUTTONHOLES on band - see explanation above. Work next row as follows from RS: 5 band sts in garter st, work pattern according to diagram A.1 until 6 sts remain on row, work 1st st in A.1 (so that pattern beg and ends the same in each side towards mid front) and finish with 5 band sts in garter st - READ KNITTING TIP. When A.1 has been worked, continue in stockinette st and denim blue with 5 band sts in garter st in each side towards mid front. REMEMBER THE KNITTING GAUGE
When piece measures 8 cm / 3'', insert 4 markers in the piece as follows: Insert 1st marker after the first 26-29-32-37-42-48 sts, 2nd marker after the next 38-40-42-44-46-48 sts, 3rd marker after the next 43-49-55-65-75-87 sts and 4th marker after the next 38-40-42-44-46-48 sts (= 26-29-32-37-42-48 sts remain on needle after last marker).
On next row from RS, dec after 1st and 3rd marker and before 2nd and 4th marker – Read DECREASE TIP (= 4 sts dec). Repeat dec when piece measures 16 cm / 6 1/4'' = 163-179-195-219-243-271 sts. When piece measures 22 cm / 8 3/4'', inc after 1st and 3rd marker and before 2nd and 4th marker – READ INCREASE TIP (= 4 sts inc). Repeat inc every 3-3-3-3½-3½-3½ cm / 1"-1"-1"-1 1/4"-1 1/4"-1 1/4" 4 times in total = 179-195-211-235-259-287 sts. Continue to work until piece measures 35-36-37-38-39-40 cm / 13¾''-14¼''-14½''-15''-15¼''-15¾''. Work next row as follows from WS: Work 44-48-51-57-62-69 sts (= left front piece), bind off 6-6-8-8-10-10 sts for armhole, work 79-87-93-105-115-129 sts (= back piece), bind off 6-6-8-8-10-10 sts for armhole, work the last 44-48-51-57-62-69 sts (= right front piece). Put piece aside and knit the sleeves.

SLEEVE:
Worked in the round on double pointed needles.
Cast on 48-48-48-52-52-56 sts on double pointed needles size 3 mm / US 2.5 with denim blue. Work 2 ridges in GARTER ST in the round - see explanation above. Switch to double pointed needles size 4 mm / US 6 and K 2 round. Then continue pattern in the round according to diagram A.1. When A.1 has been done, continue with denim blue and stockinette st. When piece measures 10-10-8-8-10-10 cm / 4"-4''-3"-3"-4"-4"-, inc 2 sts mid under sleeve. Repeat inc every 3-2½-2½-2½-2-2 cm / 1 1/8"-7/8"-7/8"-7/8"-3/4"-3/4" 11-13-14-14-15-15 times = 70-74-76-80-82-86 sts. When piece measures 44-44-43-43-42-42 cm / 17 1/4"-17 1/4"-17"-17"-16½"-16½" (NOTE: Shorter measurements in the larger sizes because of wider shoulders), bind off the middle 6-6-8-8-10-10 sts under sleeve = 64-68-68-72-72-76 sts remain on needle. Put piece aside and make another sleeve.

YOKE:
Slip sleeves on to same circular needle as body where armholes were bound off (without working them first) = 295-319-331-363-383-419 sts. P 1 row from WS with denim blue while dec 4-8-0-12-12-8 sts evenly (do not dec over bands) = 291-311-331-351-371-411 sts - Remember KNITTING TIP.
Work next row as follows from RS: Work 5 band sts as before, work pattern according to diagram A.2 until 6 sts remain on row (choose diagram for correct size and beg on row marked with arrow in diagram for correct size = 14-15-16-17-18-20 repetitions on round), work 1st st in A.2 (so that pattern beg and ends the same way in each side towards mid front) and finish with 5 band sts as before. Dec as shown in diagram.
When diagram A.2 has been worked, there are 151-161-171-181-191-191 sts on needle and piece measures approx. 54-56-58-60-62-64 cm / 21¼''-22''-22¾''-23 5/8''-24 3/8''-25¼'' up to shoulder.

ELEVATION IN BACK OF NECK:
For better shape work an elevation in the back of neck as follows: Insert 1 marker mid back. Beg from RS with denim blue and K 16-17-18-19-20-21 sts past marker, turn, tighten yarn and P 32-34-36-38-40-42 sts. Turn, tighten yarn and K 48-51-54-57-60-63 sts, turn, tighten yarn and P 64-68-72-76-80-84 sts. Turn, tighten yarn and K 80-85-90-95-100-105 sts, turn, tighten yarn and P 96-102-108-114-120-126 sts. Turn piece, tighten yarn and K the rest of the row.
Now P 1 from WS (continue bands in garter st) while dec 38-44-50-54-60-60 sts evenly (i.e. in size S + M P alternately every 2nd and 3rd st and every 3rd and 4th st tog and in size L + XL + XXL + XXXL P approx. every 2nd and 3rd st tog the entire row) = 113-117-121-127-131-131 sts - NOTE: last buttonhole should be placed here before neck edge beg.

NECK EDGE:
Switch to circular needle size 3 mm / US 2.5 and work 2 ridges over all sts before loosely binding off with K from RS.

ASSEMBLY:
Sew the openings under the sleeves. Sew the buttons on to the left band.

TWINED STRING:
Cut 2 lengths denim blue yarn of 3 metres/3.25 yds each. Twine the strands tog until they resist, fold the string double so that it twines again. Make a knot at each end. Thread tie up and down through the neck edge. Make 2 pompoms with denim blue with an approx. of diameter 5 cm / 2'' and fasten a pompom in each end of string.
