NECK WARMER:
Worked back and forth. Work 27-31-33 LOOSE ch on hook size 12 mm with Eskimo.
ROW 1 (RS): Pick up 5 sts, beg in 2nd ch from hook = 6 sts on hook, make a YO and pull through all 6 sts, work 1 ch to make a hole over the 6 sts, * pick up 1 st in the hole, pick up 1 st in the side on the last of the 6 sts, pick up 1 st in same ch as the last of the 6 sts was picked up in, 1 st in each of the 2 next ch = 6 sts on hook, make a YO and pull through all 6 sts, 1 ch *, repeat from *-* until 1 st remains. Work 1 htr in last ch. Turn.
ROW 2 (WS): 2 ch (= 1 htr), work 2 htr in every "star hole", finish row with 1 htr in last st. Turn. There are now 11-13-14 stars on row and 1 htr in each side.
ROW 3: 3 ch, pick up 1 st in 2nd and 3rd ch from hook, pick up 1 st in the first 3 sts on row = 6 sts on hook, make a YO and pull through all 6 sts, work 1 ch, * pick up 1 st in the hole, pick up 1 st in the side on the last of the 6 sts, pick up 1 st in same st as the last of the 6 sts was picked up in, pick up 1 st in each of the next 2 ch = 6 sts on hook, make a YO and pull through all 6 sts, 1 ch *, repeat from *-*. Work 1 htr in last ch. Turn.
Repeat row 2 and 3 until piece measures approx. 95-110-125 cm (or desired measurement). Adjust so that last row is row 2. Fasten off. Sew on first button approx. 2 cm from first row on piece, in the middle (i.e. there are now approx. 15 cm on each side of button). Sew on 2 more buttons with approx. 6 cm between each - NOTE! Adjust to button between each star.

Shelly Copeland Jack 14.11.2015 - 13:32:

I do not understand the term pick up, are you asking for 5 hdc in the first ch? When this term is used it reminds me of something I have heard a knitter say. The pattern looked easy but the instructions seemed harder. My other guess at what you are asking for may be hdc5tog?

DROPS Design 16.11.2015 kl. 09:11:

Dear Mrs Copeland Jack, the video below shows how to work star stitch pattern and will show you how to pick up the sts and work them tog. Happy crocheting!

Doris 14.12.2013 - 14:14:

Bon crochet!
