SOCK:
Worked in the round on double pointed needles.
Cast on 50-56-60 sts on double pointed needles size 2.5 mm with Alpaca. K 1 round and continue in rib, K1/ P1, for 3 cm. Continue as follows: Rib on the first 21-21-25 sts, M.1A (= 2 sts), M.1B on the next 24-30-30 sts and M.1C (= 3 sts). When piece measures 10-11-12 cm keep the first 21-21-25 sts on needle for heel and slip remaining 29-35-35 sts on a stitch holder (= mid upper foot). Work rib back and forth on heel sts for 5-5.5-6 cm. Insert a marker in heel and now measure piece from here. Now dec for heel - see HEEL DECREASES.
After heel dec pick up 13-14-15 sts each side of heel and slip the 29-35-35 sts from stitch holder back on needle = 68-76-80 sts. Continue in M.1 on sts on upper foot as before and rib, K1/ P1, on remaining sts. AT THE SAME TIME dec each side as follows: K 2 tog into back of loops before the 29-29-35 sts on upper foot, and K tog the first 2 sts after the 29-29-35 sts on upper foot. Repeat the dec on every other round a total of 10-12-12 times = 48-52-56 sts. When piece measures 18-19-22 cm from marker on heel (= approx 4-5-5 cm remain) insert a marker each side with 23-25-27 sts on upper foot and under foot. Continue in rib, K1/ P1, on all sts, AT THE SAME TIME dec for toes each side of both markers as follows, beg 2 sts before st with marker: K2 tog, K1 (marker sits in this st), K2 tog into back of loop. Repeat the dec on every other round a total of 4-7-6 times and then on every round 6-4-6 times = 8 sts left on needle. Cut the thread, pull it through remaining sts, tighten and fasten.
