I casted the stitches with magic cast on because I thought there would otherwise be a hole on top of the hat. I skipped the final knitted round and additions before casting off and the fit is good. I knitted the final ribbing with 3,5mm needles.

Bon tricot!

Blir det bara 72 maskor när A1 är stickad? Skall man inte sticka A2 hela vägen? I så fall blir det väl 96 maskor?
29.11.2020 - 13:49DROPS Design answered:
Hei Ingalill. Nei, du gjentar A.1 3 ganger (= 18 x 3= 54 masker) + A.2 som du gjentar du 3 ganger etter hverandre (=6 masker) x 3 steder = 6 x 3 = 18 masker. 54 masker (A.1) + 18 masker (A.2) = 72 masker til sammen.

Dear Mrs Tree, You first work diagrams like this: *A.1= 2 sts on first round), A.2 (= 2 sts)*, repeat from *-* - when A.2 has been worked one time in height, repeat last 2 rounds in A.2 while continuing working next rounds in A.1; read more about diagrams here. Happy knitting!

------------------------------------------------------- EXPLANATIONS FOR THE PATTERN: ------------------------------------------------------- PATTERN: See diagrams A.1 and A.2. CASTING-OFF TIP: To avoid the cast-off edge being tight you can cast off with a larger size needle. If the edge is still tight, make 1 yarn over after approx. each 4th stitch at the same time as casting off; the yarn overs are cast off as normal stitches. ------------------------------------------------------- START THE PIECE HERE: ------------------------------------------------------- HAT – SHORT OVERVIEW OF THE PIECE: The piece is worked in the round with double pointed needles, top down. Change to a short circular needle when necessary. HAT: Cast on 12 stitches with double pointed needles size 4 mm and Big Merino. Knit 1 round. Then * knit 1, 1 yarn over *, work from *-* to end of round = 24 stitches. Knit 1 round; yarn overs knitted twisted to avoid holes. Then work as follows: * A.1 (= 2 stitches) and work A.2 (= 2 stitches) over 6 stitches *, work from *-* over all stitches (= 3 times in width). REMEMBER THE KNITTING TENSION! Repeat the last 2 rounds in A.2 onwards. When A.1 has been worked 1 time in height, there are 72 stitches on the needle. Repeat the last 2 rounds in A.1 until the hat measures 20 cm, adjust so you finish with round with purled stitches. Change to circular needle size 3 mm and work rib (= knit 1 English rib, 1 purl); i.e. the knitted English rib stitch is the same as the first stitch in A.2, purled stitches are purled on all rounds. When the hat measures 23 cm, knit 1 round where you increase 10 stitches evenly spaced (increase 1 stitch after approx. each 7th stitch) = 82 stitches. Cast off with knit – read CASTING-OFF TIP! |
