Hi, I finished the hat and did the mattress stitch to seam the cast on and bind off rows. I am at the top of the hat. What stitch should I use to find Noah the top. From the picture and directions, I cannot tell if I should just run a thread through stitches in a circle and pull tight or use mattress stitch across the top so it looks like a straight line across the top of hat Thank you.

Hi Joanne, You sew a strand through the stitches along the edge of the opening and pull tight. Happy crafting!

I’m starting this hat in the 3 stripes (black, red , mustard) and want to be certain if I am using the Karisma yarn, I am to knit the entire had with 2 strands of yarn, correct? I also do not understand the directions to begin the short rows. I am to knit with MC until piece is 8 1/4”. As I do this, I do short rows as well? 2 rows on all, then 2 rows 52 stitches, then 2 rows 44 stitches and repeat that ENTIRE pattern throughout the hat?

Dear Joanne, only the first 2 stitches from right side will be worked with 2 strands of yarn (see how to in this video), the remaining stitches will be worked with only 1 strand. Short rows have to be worked from beginning, ie all the way from cast on until cast off - at the same time, change colours as explained for the chosen pattern. Happy knitting!
