How to read a schematic drawing

You will find the schematic drawing for each garment below the patterns. It will have all the measurement for each size we have in this pattern. If you follow the pattern and keep the tension/gauge the garment will have the same size as the schematic drawing.

If you think it is hard to decide what size to make, if can be a good idea to measure a sweater you have and like the size of. Then you can pick the size by looking at the schematic drawing and find the correct size there.

If your sweater is approx 60 cm/23½" in length, the chest circumference is 96 cm/37 3/4" and the hip circumference is 108 cm. Then this will be equivalent to size L in this schematic drawing.

Circumference at the bottom = 54 cm/21 1/4" x 2 = 108 cm/42½" all the way round!

Chest circumference = 48 cm/19" x 2 = 96 cm/37 3/4" all the way around the chest!

Dear Laurel, you will find at the bottom of the pattern a measurement chart including all finished measurements taken flat from side to side in each size. Bonjour Mme Dupuis, vous trouverez en bas de chaque modèle un schéma avec les mesures pour chaque taille, en cm, prises à plat d'un côté à l'autre. Comparez ces mesures à un vêtement similaire dont vous aimez la forme pour trouver la taille. Voir aussi ici. Bon tricot!

Dear Poppy, you will find total amount of yarn, in weight under tab "Materials", ie when you need 600-650 g Eskimo (size XS-S/M) in DROPS 80-4, Eskimo = 50 g balls, so that you will need 600/50=12 balls Eskimo in size XS and 650/50 = 13 balls Eskimo in size S/M. Happy knitting!
