Video #76, listed in: Learn to knit, Cast on, Cast on basic
Our videos do not have sound. We are a worldwide company and our videos are watched by people speaking endless of different languages and many do not understand English. So since there is not a given language for us to use, we instead have written instructions to accompany the video, and then there is no sound to disturb while watching.
You can adjust the speed of this video by clicking on the icon, on the play bar.

The video is good but could be improved. It would help if; 1. The video was slower 2. You showed how the wool is held in your hands before you start 3. How to create the first loop.

Dear Winifred, do not hesitate to click on "pause" when necessary so that you can see step by step how to do (and do it at the same time). You may find further help in the other video "Cast on - continental method" - see index. Happy knitting!

Denne metoden - telt-metoden bruker de fleste elevene å forstå og får til: 1) Trekanten mellom pekefinger, tommel og pinne ligner et telt. 2) Legg ”teltet” ned i håndflaten. 3) Gå med pinnen inn i løkken (rundt tommeltott) og hent tråden på pekefinger. 4) Dra tråden gjennom løkken og stram forsiktig løkken på tommelen.

Thank you for this video! I read the cast-on instructions and could not figure out what they meant. This was VERY helpful!
